Well this is mommy's big weekend, the one she has been working so hard for all year, the Womens in the Outdoors Ohio State event. She is even teaching the Outdoor photo class on Sunday and it is the biggest class. They have 90 lady's and girls signed up for this years event. So with Mommy out with the girls, I am taking the 4 boys to the pond for a weekend camping, fishing and some tree rat junting. Yep, burn some dogs and Marshmellows, drink some root beer with pop, best friend, some other family and the boys. I know we all will have fun but will be glad to get us all home. Frank.

Re: 3006 or 300WSM? I can not say anything bad about the -06 but it is not a round that I care for, for me this is a no brainer. The next gun I get for myself is going to be a Tikka T3 .300 WSM. I love my Win. M-70 in the WSM but that T3 has me looking hard. The only thing that got me with what you asked is that you are not going to reload for it, that would have me looking at the -06, just for the amount and price of the ammo and every Mom and Pop store has it. If you like the -06 then stay with it, the more you get from the WSM is good (look at it as a .300 Win. Mag.) but you will also get more recoil from it. btw- I did not get the light gun and the recoil is not bad at all but I don't think I would like it in a light gun. Frank.

Re: Need Help on Scope Selection Snapper, I was thinking the same thing about them taking it? If you are close to one of there stores then take a ride and look at them. I would like to get a good look at one of the new Simmons, I have over 12 of there old scopes and will be looking to get a new one for some new rifles coming into my home soon. I have one of the old Simmons on my 3 Mag's and 12 ga slug gun, so I don't think they are recoil shy. Outside of scopes that have been given to me, all others are Simmons. We have 3 Leupols on my team: 2 on M-24's and the other on a M-82 (.308 and .50 Cals) With my M-24. I have replaced my scope 1 time and looking at the log it only had 133 rounds under it and I am not happy with it now. Maby it is just me but I have seen more of them blow up and go bad then anything but a trashco. Frank.

Re: Spartan 453 Autoloader I have looked at the Spartan but thought that they felt and looked like the Mossburg and I still have a bad tast from all the PC crap that Rem. has done in the last few years. I do know that the CD is a great auto and have had mine for about 7 years now and love the thing. Mommy got it for me to Duck and Goose hunt with but I take it out for about everything now, even the clays that we do the marrathon on starting in June. Thinking back, I am about ready to get my 14th case of Win. AA's for it and have all ready reloaded the others past there prime. I have talked my Dad and cousin into getting one and for $299 at waly world they can not be beet. My cousin shot 12 boxes of AA's though his this past Sat here on the farm with out one hitch, not bad for a brand new gun. BTW. I am still using the same rubber "O" ring that came on mine and think they did away with them on the newer ones. Now that they are making them in Left handed Modles, I am going to pick one up for Mommy and Alex my oldest son. They also use the Rem. chokes. Frank.

Well if I am going to have to take my vacation now I am having a great time of it so far. Got my 7 year old Jimmy off the bus and got the .410, so it was off to the woods at Grandpa's. We only saw 3 but got to shoot at and get 2 this is the first 2 tails of this year and will be added to the 8 from last year for him. He also saw the doe run up to us first and then bed down not 50 ft away from us, just after the shot. I think this good life of being home with Mommy and the boys will make me fat and lazy but I could get use to it, just don't know if Mommy and the boys could put up with me here every night now or not??? If the weather holds, I am taking Zac (10) and Jimmy out with the .243 to get ready to fill some crop damage permits. Yep, this vacation it going alot better then the last one. Frank. ps. 13 more days to go.

Well, it is vacation time again and this time I will get to get the family out for some hunting. Goose, Dove and tree rats come in season today in Ohio. Mommy has been out busting some clays and said she is ready for some dove's (Hope she don't out shoot me to bad) I don't like to hunt tree rats this early but I told the boys we would and I am thinking about taking a tree rat pot pie back to the unit for my teams lunch on the 19th. I just wish that the gas was not so high so I could get out and spend some time with friends, well will have to see what goes on next time I get home. Frank.

Re: Women Hunters: Are they welcomed into your gro I love to see it, my Dad would ask my sis to go hunting with us but she would not go but got mad when I got out of school to deer hunt Thanksgiving week and she could not go then? Dad told her that hunting was not just deer hunting and getting out of school and if she would hunt the rest of the year she could go Thanksgiving week also. Till I marred Mommy, she had never hunted and only shoot one time in a college class, now she has killed 4 deer (1 nice 10 pt) and 3 turkeys (she still don't let me forget that it was 23 lbs, gutted???) and helps me take the boys out. Oh ya, she also is part of the planing team for the state Womens in the Outdoors event for Ohio. God I am such a lucky man to have been blessed with such a Lovly hunting buddy. Frank.

I think that we will have some new friends posting on the site from today. I hate to say this but of the 18 people there today, I had 11 with me. Tim, all I can say is thanks to you and the Realtree group for such a great show and putting kids and family first in what you do and not getting stuck in the kill only shot. Glad I got to put some faces to the names and I hope that Alisha got her socks!!! Give me a call when you get up my way and I will buy lunch. Thanks again all. Frank.

Re: Sick of the news.... I too am ready for some good news, I would also like to see some news that reflect the truth about what is going on and not just the bad stuf. It is very refreshing when Ch 18 gives up the 6 o'clock time to show the county fair that week. Frank.

Re: What Sling??? GW, They make them that replace the end screw on the fore end and you will need to drill a hole for the one on the bottom stock. I know that Rem. makes them and you can look at www.midwayusa.com I think it is www.natchez.com or some place like Cabela's for them. Frank.
