    Ghosts?

Cool Clip...maybe the morning dew evaporating and swirling in the wind. I don't know. But it does look cool whatever it is.
  2. Good Luck on that Bear hunt and for some reason...I don't think Gramps will mind. You're doing what you and him love and shared together. Go get that bear!

    Funny deer signs

Yup this guy puts up these signs and used to increase the count when another deer got hit by a car. I guess he got tired of the updates and made this sign. Do you think we have a deer problem here? My sons and I are doing our best to help with that:D.

    Funny deer signs

This was the 1st sign that was posted by a citizen who lives on the other side of the woods I live and hunt. This is the new one he just put up. The guys definitely has a sense of humor.
  6. I would say in the 130's... he has the mass and the spread. Good luck tagging him.
  7. Wow ! Look at all that junk! Good genetics and good food...look what you get. Even for a farm deer.
  8. That is a nice buck. It looks like he has some palmation going on the right side. I love non typicals. Thanks for sharing it.
  9. Bold predictions for sure. I am looking forward to the updates.
  10. Awesome backyard there AA:) Cool to see everyone pitching in. MY sons and I were at our hunting camp for the past 5 days and we are kind of BBQ'd out. Thats all we do at camp for dinner... BBQ over hardwoods. So I got home today and the Mrs. had made some home made lasagna;) MMMM. Being Sept 1, our crow, goose and small game opened today here in NY. My 12 year old son Mike on his 1st day eleigible to hunt in NY... hunted. We got on to some crows with the FoxPro caller but none came in shotgun range. Still a good day hunting with my sons. Happy Labor Day everyone!
  11. Todd, he came home with great stories and some wild pork too:D He shot a small hog the 2nd day he was there, and they were constantly getting chased by Tropical Storm Fay. They got in some hunting, but the weather made it especially tough. None the less, he got to hunt with a American hero. My pal Chad, fresh back from 2 tours( one 12 month in Afghanistan and one 15 month in Iraq) in the sandbox, see Georgia, hunt Fort Stewart, and Joe thinks he wants to go the UGA. Many lovely ladies he says. Nothing about the academics...all he spoke of was the young ladies..Ahhh to be 16 again:D I don't want to steal Joes thunder. He needs to post the pics of his trip. Davet, thank you for that compliment. My boys were brought up in the outdoors and I get mushy:rolleyes: every time they do something good in the woods.
  12. My son and I found a dead Muley back in March on our Rio hunt in West Texas. It was hung up on a wire fence dead and all dried up. I found some shed mounts at the Sportsman guide and proceeded to mount these horns. See old thread.http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75201 My son Joe wanted them for his room. I put them on a plaque with a brass plate describing the find. I think I will paint those screws holding it to the plaque to help conceal them. The finished product.
  13. Take a look at http://www.morsenursery.com/index.php?cPath=29&pID=866 if you don't wan to wait for those to grow and produce. They have Oaks that will produce acorns in the 1st year! Hybrids. White oaks produce every year and red oaks every other year. The white oak acorns are the stuff deer go crazy for. Good Luck.
  14. I have never used a API, but I love my Summit! I have the Broadhead backpacker and it is the most perfect climber for bowhunting I have ever used. It folds flat for carrying, very light, open front and sits very sturdy on the tree. I say get a Summit, They have great customer service too.
  15. What a unique critter. I see a .223 hole in him in the future:D. Cool pics thanks for sharing them.
  16. I have had this happen with a .308 Mod.70 I was shooting. The firing pin dimpled the primer, but no boom. That round went boom in another rifle. It came down to the firing pin being a bit worn. I changed it and never had anymore problem with that gun going bang. Also some primers are seated a bit deeper than others, and the pin does not strike it hard enough for discharge to occur. Military ammo has harder primers than commercial ammo. Was it military? Could there be some throat erosion and the shell is sitting to far in the chamber? I would pull the bullet and see if there was a charge in it. If there was no charge in it, contact the manufacturer. Most are good about things like that and you might get a free box of ammo.
  17. Stay on them critters Cole. They can keep ya busy.
  18. I'd say 140's now. They lose considerable mass when they get out of velvet. Good Luck bagging him.

    Seat Belts

The newer vehicles have so many warning bells that never go away if you don't buckle up. So, BUCKLE UP! If not to be annoyed by the bells, then for your own safety. I always carry a serrated knife or partially serrated in case I need to hack out of that seatbelt if I am in a collision. The serrated knives cut best on seat belts. Drive safe everyone.
  20. Congrats to the both of you. May your 1st child be a masculine child:D
  21. Get rid of the dead weight in here Scott. I'm all for it.
  22. Joe... I had no idea you had purple feet:D Congrats! Something to be proud of.
