Thanks for the info guys. Warn looks like a winner. The winch has been put off because of the upcoming Rio hunt in Texas;). On the back burner for now.

I bought the SKB double gun case. $199+tax:rolleyes: It is getting too close to the day we leave for Texas and it was the best built and lightest at Gander Mtn. It weighed in at 18lbs. My friend in the archery dept put it on the bow scale for me. I would have liked to go with a hevier duty cas with better locks, but that case was 35 lbs alone! with no guns! That would've put me way over 50lbs for luggage. I think the SKB will give me many years of happiness. Thanks VT Hunter;)

Hello everyone here! Just checking in! The name is cool and I love it! Awesome job on the sig Moon! As my son Joe has stated, we will be hunting Rios in a few weeks in Texas, then patiently awaiting the opening of spring turkey in May here in NY. Ohhh I am so excited...Like a kid again:D

I always love adding the line in the "speech" " May the 1st child... be a masculine child" ( Luca Brasi's speech to the Godfather on his daughter wedding day) Been a best man 2X, the bride/groom/crowd loved it each time:D It worked! I was doing a job at a hospital and went to the cafeteria for coffee break. Right before 9am; many people were huddled around the TV in the hospital lobby. We found out why. Then we watched the 2nd plane hit.

Every GUN has the potential to be a "cop killer". Every bullet has the potential to be a "cop killer Bullet" in the WRONG hands. Its not the gun its the person. I thought unlicensed concealed was already against the law? What about all those guns that hide in a belt buckle? The Freedom Arms derringers. In wallet hosters for the Beretta .22's, .25's and .32's? Pen guns? Cane guns? Those are already in existence and regulated. Yes, wallet holsters are regulated in NYS. I see how this would cause concern among LE, but BAD people are the problem, not the equipment they use to commit crimes. Guns in the hands of felons are already illegal. As gun owners in a Free society, a honest law abiding citizen should be able to own WHATEVER they want in The Good Ole US of A. A subject cannot, a citizen can. This is GUN CONTROL talk coming from you guys... I can't believe it! I know I know...Its for our own good ...right? PUHLEEESE...Go vote for Clinton crime family too why don't cha? This should not pose anymore of a threat than ANY other firearm in the WRONG hands.

My son and I will be flying to Texas in a few weeks to hunt Rios and we need to have a good airline travel case for our guns. I have been looking at the SKB double gun case and liking it. Does anyone have any recomendations on TSA/Airline appr'd 2 gun rifle cases? Thanks

I will be videoing most if not all the action we encounter and our hunt pics will be posted here... I Promise. In your pics...will that be the typical landscape(color) to expect in mid March? If so, I think the old woodland army camo would work OK. Between the tickets, gun cases and snake boots I am a bit hard pressed to buy new camo also. Feeling dang fortunate just being able to do this.( Thank you Lord!) I am hearing it often from the Mrs. about how I am going away without the rest of them... "BBBBut Honey...I'm taking one of the boys, soo it not like a vacation". She didn't buy it

I will check with him on the type of camo and I have been looking at heavy duty airline gun cases( I think Gander Mtn has one I want) and snake boots. I think the $100 or so we each spend on the boots is cheaper than the co pay at a hospital out of state for a snake bite. As far as the land. My buddy said somewhere in the 30-40K acre range. Thats like the size of the county I live in here in NY! I can't wait! Any advice on hunting Rios is treasured;) Thanks!

Certain guns like certain powders and in also in certain powder forms. I have T/C Thunderhawk that will not shoot anything good except 90grains loose Pyrodex RS@ 100 yds. I shot with Pyrodex and 777 pellets, thinking 10 grains would not matter. I went through 20 rounds of 350gr Maxi hunters before I said "lemme try the loose stuff again" I did and I was back in the black. It does make a difference, even the primers.

We are hunting with a friend who owns about 1000acres and also has access to a very large lease. Axis and Javelina are possibly availible too. I feel like a kid again waiting for Christmas:D I'm very excited about going with my son. We have done a lot of eastern hunting together, and this will be a nice addition to loads of memories we have in the field .

OK, I have 3 generators and all serve a specific purpose. I recommend Honda engines. I have NEVER had a problem with ANY of my Honda gen sets and they have quite a few hours on them. BTW, I use synthetic oil in all of them and store them with Sta-Bil in the gas. I have a 5000w Honda powered Coleman Powermate, this is for when the house loses its power. I can run anything in the house but the central air with it. I also have a 2500 watt Honda Gen that is my construction site gen. Then there is the one you refer to. The very portable 1000 watt gen set. It is a Honda EU1000 Most gens come with 12v charging ports. This small 1000 watter has this. I have used it to charge the riding mower and power small equipment like a small pump. It is called 1000watts, but that is the peak of the power. I can consistently power something that consumes like below 900 watts of power. As you know the higher the power consumption the more fuel usage. The Honda EU 1000 is very quiet, light, economical and durable. But it is a bit under sized. I used it to power my small camper, just for lighting. The EU 2000 will do a lot more and is only a bit larger and heavier. The 2000 is large enough to do the micro and A/c if need be. These EU series of Honda gens are the ones we use at work(heavy construction). These have been dropped, run over, rolled down hills ect. and they still work great stay in one piece. Hows that for a testimony? ( hope the Boss don't read this:rolleyes:) How long it takes to charge a 12v battery will depend on the how dead the battery is. Do not get ANY generator that uses gas/oil mix (2 stroke). They are louder, burn dirtier and no where as efficient as the Gas only (4 stroke) ones. Less maintenance with 4 stroke also. Oh yeah... 12v charging leads do not usually come with the gen sets. They are extra. I would go with a Honda. Good Luck!
