    Prayers Please!!!

Prayers out to Grampa. It's not that big a deal if caught fairly early. I got the bulls eye rash this spring and went to the doctors and was put on antibiotics for 15 days and have been good to go since.
  2. Save your self a lot of trouble. Call to the nearest town that you will be hunting by and find the local butcher shops then take your speed goats in to them and have them cut up and flash froze. Then for the trip home just have it packed in dry ice and boxed. They should have the heavy waxed boxes just for this. That's how I brought my elk home from western WY. It took me 24 hours to get back to WI. and the meat was still froze good and had plenty of dry ice left. That way you can spend more time scouting and hunting rather than fussing with a downd animal.
  3. So far the snow and cold aint to bad. Should have been here last year!
  4. Softy! I run synthetic oil in my truck for the extream temps we have summer and winter. One of my work cars has 443,000 miles on the motor and it's never been opened up. Everything else is about shot but the motor keeps on going and going.
  5. I hope the hounds don't over heat running Yotes this weekend with all this warm weather. Fresh snow so Sunday might be a good day!
  6. We just went down 10 cents to $3.89 here in Northern WI.
  7. A few pictures from different hunts this fall
  8. HD Your dad is right at this point your young (I assume?) and he does not want to end up taking care of it. Dogs are a 12 to 15 year commitment and not to be taken lightly. You have school, Friends, and collage ahead of you. Where would the dog fit in with all this? It's hard to hear and accept this but wait untill your older and more settled in life to be fair to the dog.
  9. I'm on dial up and it is a little slower than the others that I venture to. All good things come to he who waits.
  10. turdy - turdy's will take other game also
  11. Re: scouting camera stealth-cam DIGRC-XTRV Get a Leaf River and you wont be sorry!
  12. Re: Gentry Kills \"CUBBY\" $15,000 for a single game viotaion is a rather steep fine and justified. Minnisota does have agreements with 22 or 23 other states that he will not be able to hunt in for 5 years. What P.O's me is that he was going to enter the bear in the Pope and Young records to get his name in "The Book's" If he did it once he's done it before. I just wonder about the other "Trophies" on his walls?? He has fallen from hunter to POACHER and will be labled as so from now till eternity.
  13. Re: Do GPS Systems work in the woods. Get a compas and learn how to use it and you'll never be lost again. GPS's are a great tool but are not foolproof either. Signal loss and dead batteries are the two major problems that a user will run into. Most major brands are good and it just a matter of how much $$$ you want to spend. NEVER ENTER THE BIG WOODS WITH JUST A GPS!! Always have a compas also.

  16. I had the sad oppertunity to listen to a deer hunter lose his life Sunday. This weekend was the start of our traditional 9 day gun deer season and sunday afternoon we came in for a break and something to eat and my friend that I hunt with is a volintier Fireman and his radio went off of a hunter in the woods having a heart attack. We don't know if he called it in or a companion called it in but they / he did not know their exact location only a couple road names that they / he drove in on. The only thing the EMT crew, Ambulance, and first resonders had to go on was them two roads and to look for a blue truck. After about 25 minutes they found a blue truck and the First Responder that found it raidio'ed it in and took off into the woods to locate the hunter. to make the story short wrong truck wrong hunter. Now back to square one they were again looking and about 40 Minutes into this a another call came in that they found another blue truck and into the woods the first tresponder went. After about 15 minutes he raidio'ed that he has located the man but not breathing and they need the 6 wheeler and chaninsaws to get into him while he did CPR and hit him with the Defib. In spite of all the efforts made he was dead. He died laying next to a deer that he was dragging out. The three things: Know where you are! Let someone else know where you are and when you plan on returning. Be reasonalbly fit to undertake the riggars of the outdoores. If he could have gave his exact location a fisrt resonder could have been there within the first fifteen minutes and most likely the man would be alive today. This happens every year at this time here in WI. with a few hunters dieing of heart issues and never thought to much about it. But listening to this play out over the radio and all the recue personel franticly trying to find this man in time. They did a heck of a job trying to reach and save him and I pray for them and the family that suffered the loss.

You have a spot in my boat anytime you want to go duckhunting. Grouse numbers are good and I'm headed over to Price to do some hunting for them and also stop in Dorchester and pay some on my bear.
