  1. Does anyone have any experience with Moultrie's repair service? I have an I-40 that a bear ripped down a couple of days ago. It's not damaged too terribly bad but it did get some moisture inside it. I've dried it out but it still has some electronic glitches that need to be serviced. And yes, I know the warranty doesn't cover bears. Are there other options besides the manufacturers to get these things fixed? Thanks in advance.
  2. Guys like that are the reason I left the club I was in. To much "me, me me". I spent more time playing politics than I did hunting. Heck turn the tables on him. Find an area he likes to frequent and get together 4 or 5 guys with old shed antlers and go to work on every other tree on the place. Make him spend more time cutting trees than he will hunting!
  3. A really good product. I've used one on my turkey gun for several years. I also have the bow sling which is also pretty handy. I do wish the guy in the commercials would lighten up and smile a little. Maybe he needs an Enzyte!
  4. Here's something else you can try. Do a property or tax map search for the county in which you hunt. In some cases there is a link on the county's homepage. The two counties I hunt here in Virginia both work off of geographic information systems. They can be accessed by anyone and allow me to search for a particular property by name, address, or other search criteria. Once I identify the property I'm interested in, it will list information such as the landowner, contact information, acreage, etc. After you zoom in close enough, the program allows you to overlay the property maps with aerial photos. This is a really good tool for finding out who owns a particular piece of property you've been drooling over for years.
  5. Thanks for the opportunity Paul. E-mail sent.
  6. Just my two cents, but if you're serious about continueing to play golf (even if you're a high handicapper): go get fitted for a driver. It sounds to me like the head/shaft combination you have now doesn't fit your swing. That one ball you hit good every now and then is probably when you've swung with exactly the right speed and tempo for your shaft. But, you shouldn't have to swing to fit your club - your club should fit your swing. I would almost bet you that if you were put on a swing monitor and properly fitted for a driver you could easily pick up 20-30 yards (if not more). Heck nowadays they can even fit you with the right ball too.
  7. Re: Rank these... I love to deer hunt, but I gotta agree with the Doc. [ QUOTE ] Turkey Turkey Turkey [/ QUOTE ] For those of you who've never spring turkey hunted; do yourself a favor. GO!
  8. Re: Out of stikers. Need a good source. I've used Fred Cox's (Grand Slam Calls - Reidsville NC) strikers for almost ten years now. Love'em. Cocabola is my favorite. http://www.turkeyhuntingsecrets.com/store/store-calls-strikers-grandslamcollection.htm
  9. Re: Xtended Range Shells I shot the Winchester Supreme #5's for several years and they always did the job. I bit the bullet last year and decided to try the X-tended Range. The consistency of my patterns, especially at longer distances, improved by 20%. They put three down last year and will be back in the chamber next month.
  10. Re: your top three \"most hated\" sports franchises. Well, since we're including colleges as "franchises", 1. North Carolina 2. Tar Heels 3. UNC Around here, the most obnoxious fans that walk. My apologies to those of you who are afflicted with this character flaw. How do you get a UNC grad off your front porch? Pay him for the pizza.
  11. Re: Which Reddot?? I have the Bushnell Trophy Red Dot and I really like it. It's got multiple reticles (I use the circle with the red dot in the middle). Another thing I like is that it's low profile, as far as red dots go. I have found the turkey's dont care much for it though.
  12. Re: Duke or North Carolina Tonight?? Who wins?? Jumping in way late here, but here's my theory on why Duke players haven't fared all that well in the NBA. Coach K recruits quality kids and then coaches them to be good people first and good basketball players second. When they get into a league made up of thugs - they just don't fit in. That's right, I'm a Duke fan. I like their program and their coach is second to none IMO. Dook? Did they drop spelling program at Carolina? I heard they cancelled drivers ed and sex education too. The mule died. And by the way, with the talent Carolina has this year, they should beat Duke and everybody else who steps on the court with them. That being said - Go Devils!
  13. Re: Get the shakes? [ QUOTE ] I have never hunted turkey. So this will be my first time this spring. Just wondering...........do you guys get the shakes and the pounding heart just like when you're deer hunting?? I just can't see getting that excited over a bird. I sure hope I am wrong. [/ QUOTE ] Just a bird? Boy, are you in for a surprise.
  14. Re: Your State\'s Rules and regs book Here's a link to the Old Dominion's. Good luck. Virginia Rules & Regs
  15. Re: Fall away rests [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Trophy Taker Shakey is a great rest....simple and it works. Plus it doesn't cost alot. [/ QUOTE ] BINGO!!!!!! TT Shakey is IMO the simplest Fall away out there. You can find them on AT for about $30-$40. [/ QUOTE ] Ditto and ditto. I'll add they are very tough and well made.
