Thanks guys! I live in Wake Co. but hunt in Bertie Co. This is an average deer for my area. We strictly manage about 500 acres and plant multiple food plots. I thought he was an older deer, maybe at least 4, but after getting my hands on him he's definitely a 3 yr old. I probably would have let him walk with the rifle but there was no chance when he came within 18 yards. Good luck hunting!!

Hey guys,I finally got around to posting some pics of my NC 8 pt. taken in bow season. I work in retail so my hunting trips are few and far between but I was fortunate enough to get this guy on my first afternoon out! My first buck with a bow!!

Re: NC buck down!! Thanks guys! TKLambert - I killed him in Bertie Co. I live in Wake but don't have any land to hunt around here. Most of my family lives in Bertie and I have been hunting there for 15 yrs. Honestly, this deer is a solid 3-3 1/2 year old, but there are bigger for sure.

Here is a pic of a nice 8 pt. I killed two days ago. Not the big boy I have been hunting but I had to take him. He was just too pretty to pass up. Story to follow... deer pic

Just got my new Easton Eaxis 400s with blazers and wraps. Man they are sweet! I have a rather dumb question though.. I knew they would small in diameter, but these are tiny. When I screwed in the Muzzy MX4s, they were quite a bit different in diameters... I have only shot Muzzys and asume most broadheads won't be flush with this small of a shaft... I won't be able to shoot these at least for another couple of days, so my question is what broadheads are you guys using and what grain? What kind of arrow flight would I get?? Thanks. I'll shoot them probably thursday, but just curious in the meantime.. thanks

Re: Question on center shot for Switchback and WB okay... was measuring incorrectly, it looks more like 11/16th is pretty good with the eye and no fletching contact. now, back to the nock point. with the eye, i moved the WB to where the arrow looks level, and it is slightly higher than the berger hole. is this gonna be a problem? i am not gonna take it back to the pro shop just b/c of the time it will take. that and the fact it was a free tune. thanks for any help!

I have tried to set it up to 13/16th but it appears the fletching is going to hit the riser. Is this right or am I doing something wrong? Also, the pro shop set my nock point too high and my arrow is pointing down slightly. Should I just raise the biscuit? This will put my arrow slightly above the berger hole... Please help!! DANG PRO SHOP!!! Now I know why it was a free tune..

06 Switchback!! Unfortunately, I don't have any pics b/c they had to order a cam for me.. I think I got a pretty good deal. I paid $599 + tax brand new and they are ordering and installing the correct cam at no charge as well as installing a string loop and peep sight at no charge. What do you guys think? The guy told me he gave me a good deal b/c it was the last original switchback he had. Man that thing was so sweet!! I am not gonna be able to sleep for the next week. My setup will look like this: 06 Switchback 27" draw , 65 lbs Copper John sight Deluxe Whisker Bisuit QS B2 Qwikee 3 arrow detachable TruGlo 4" stabilizer and wrist sling Gold Tip 5575 w/ blazers Muzzy MX4s Cobra Green Mamba R1 release I will post some pics when she comes home!!

Re: One big Cat I thought mine was big!! He weighed 35lbs. but that is a beast of a bobcat!!! It appears to be a big male correct? I hear they get bigger or at least heavier than females. Females usually are "bigger" but have longer skinny legs. Great Pics!

Re: Late season NC buck on trail cam (first-time u I'm from Bertie County. It's in the north-eastern part of the state. We have some pretty good deer around here. He was probably average sized.

Re: Late season NC buck on trail cam (first-time u Yeah, it's the cheapo 35mm Stealth Cam from Wal-Mart.. trigger speed is not that bad (i walked in front of it a couple times) but the cost of a 35mm is too expensive. I will probably go with the Moultrie 200 digital this fall.

Re: Late season NC buck on trail cam (first-time u thanks guys.. yeah, i probably would have taken him this year if given the chance. the cam is still out hoping to get a side shot of his antlers before they drop. i am already addicted to the trail cameras and currently researching digital ones.. thanks again
