Hey guys, been a while since I've been on here, have missed all of you. I got my first deer in 2 years. So here is the story, I was sitting in the stand watching a doe and fawn feed in a clover plot, I had been watching them for about 20 minutes and the doe comes to full alert and looks to my right. I look over and here he comes, he is on a B-line straight for her. I could tell he was wide and pretty tall and knew he was a shooter, I reached over to pick up the muzzleloader and slightly banged the barrel on the railing of the stand.....UH OH...the doe instantly turns and looks straight at me and so I freeze....meanwhile the buck is steady coming and is only about 25 yards to be broadside straight out in front of me. My mind is racing, I can't move cause if she sees me and takes off so will the buck. I just wait a few seconds and then the doe turns to look at him....In that millisecond I pull the gun up, get it to my shoulder and find his vitals in the crosshairs and BOOM, he ran about 45 yards and stopped, swayed back and forth a few times and hit the ground.....OMG...I was shaking so hard, The doe and fawn never left the field until my hubby got back there with the tractor to load up my deer, they kept feeding in the plot. Anyway, here he is.

He is getting so big. He really likes his walker and is getting real good at getting around. Had to share......:toot:

We started giving the residents in my nursing home the flu shot a couple weeks ago and it seems every one of them have developed fever and cough/congestion. Hmmm, I haven't gotten mine yet and I am rethinking that maybe I'll pass on it this year. I usually take it and don't get sick but think it's not worth the risk.

Off work here till Wednesday. Our muzzleloader season opened this morning. Hubby is out in stand now. Enjoy your time off......it will go by incredibly fast!!

Yes, usually have those kinda days all of the time. Boy am I glad to be off work on maternity leave....lol. It's gonna be hard to go back after 6 weeks off. Hang in there Ruth, you'll eventually get used to it.....lol

Thanks Tim. Miss all you guys. Don't know if you have heard but we have another addition to our family. William Arthur Jr. He was born April 27th. Weighed 6# 15oz and was 19inches long. It was a very special mothers day for me.

Gotta agree with that. I think he will be just fine though. We are all doing fine. He just woke up from a nap and is so alert and bright eyed. Poor thing gets attention constantly.....lol. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. I'm enjoying being off of work for a little while. Maybe will have a chance to get caught up on here. Catrina

Hey everyone, Haven't been on here much lately. Things have been crazy around here. House is almost done. We passed final electrical inspection and hopefully this next week we will get, and pass, our final building inspection. Woohoo. Just in the nick of time. I am now 35 weeks along, getting things prepared for our little one has been time consuming to say the least. I am still working and plan on up until I go into labor. All of the little old folks at my nursing home just love rubbing my big fat belly. It is kinda funny. My oldest, lilmisswtnhunt, bagged her first turkey yesterday during opener of youth hunt. The post/pics are in the turkey room. I will try to check in a little more often, I miss you guys. Hope Ruth is keepin you hoppin Tim...lol
