I saw a definate 200+ buck on public land here in Iowa about 10 years ago. It looked like a smaller version of the Rompola buck.

Hey everyone, i have owned a Knight LK 93, stainless barrel, with camo thumbhole stock for about 12 years now. I converted it over to a 209 primer gun maybe 9 years ago. It is in excellent shape (except for the stock, more on that later) with the barrel and everything else still very clean. I know every gun shoots different than the next with different loads, but i was wondering what you LK owners have found to be the best load as far as accuracy goes? I have tried at least 5 different bullet/powder combos and don't really think my gun is as accurate as it can be. I found mine shoots best with 100gr Triple Seven and a 250gr Barnes Red Hot Bullet. I think Knight packaged them for awile but i haven't seen them lately. This gives me a 2 1/2" group at 50 yards. Shouldn't it be better then that? 100 yard shot falls about 6" below that and their groups are at least 6 to 8" in size. If i remember right, long ago i tried a 150 yard shot on paper that looked like it dropped at least 18". Does that sound normal? I always shoot from a rest at the range and also have a very good scope on it too. The barrel is clean as a whistle and i try to swab the bore every 2 to 3 rounds when practicing. Somehow i think it could shoot better. I have 4 different kinds of loads waiting to be tried when it warms up. 245gr Powerbelts, 250gr Knight Ultimate Slam, 240gr Hornaday XTP's, and 300gr Hornaday SST's. Can't wait to get out and throw some lead soon. I'm hoping to find some kind of load that shoots better then i have been so far. What loads seem to work best in your LK 93's? (speaking from experience hopefully) Anybody know where i can find a camo thumbhole stock for my LK, cheap? I loved that stock. It got hung up in some brush coming down from my stand a few weeks ago and fell the last 5 feet onto the frozen ground. It didn't sound good when it hit the ground. It broke the stock in the weakest spot and didn't damage anything else as far as i know. I doubt i could repair it and still be strong.

Hope you don't mind me answering this one Gus. You can build a homebrew with a Sony S40 for $150, easy. Maybe less. Cheaper is not why i do it. Picture quality and performance is why. If you have a problem with your homebrew there are a few good homebrew sites that can help you diagnose the problem and fix it. You don't need to send it in to get repaired. The thing i like about homebrews are the picture quality. You are using a regular digital camera to capture the image, not a mass produced CMOS sensor built cheap for the trailcam companies. I had a few commercial cams then built a homebrew. Long story short, i now have 7 homebrews and 1 IR videocamera setup. IR pictures don't trip my trigger so i stay with white flash. The picture quality is much better. Here is a couple pics to show you what i mean.

It is really neat to go down by the wall and "feel" them go by. You just don't hear and see them, you feel them. I used to go to Michigan every year about 10 years back and we camped right across the road from the track. Thats the way to go. You can come and go as you like all weekend. Watching qualifying from behind the pit wall is fun too. The camping experience was the fun part. All week. There are some fairly quiet campgrounds around, but if you like to party, camping is a blast. On race weekend, i doubt there is a sober person in the campground. No problems, just everybody having fun. I don't do the camping thing there anymore. They made it too expensive and really downsized the camping site size. It's too crowded now.

The rules also state you cannot push someone below the yellow line either. After watching some of the Nascar highlight shows today Micheal Waltrip said "if you can see the checkered flag, all yellow line rules are off". I would think in the tri oval, you could see the flagstand.

I don't mind seeing Tony Stewart win, but i was kinda routing for the underdog. Regan Smith. Supposedly if you get pushed down below the yellow line you can make the pass. One of the announcers along with Smith also said there is no rule on the last lap. I believe Regan Smith should have won. I'm not faulting Tony for blocking, anybody would have done the same in that situation. And you will never see Nascar change that decision. They even put Regan in an 18th place finish. Must have given him a 1 lap penalty. Certainly if there had not been that big wreck with 14 laps to go, the race would have finished much differently. Whats your opinion? Hey everyone, I have a Mathews Q2 that doesn't shoot the arrows straight. I shoot carbons with Blazer vanes. I never have got this bow tuned to shoot that great and i just looked closely at it yesterday and notice that it looks like the vanes are probably making contact with the cables. I also use a Quicktune Drop Away 2000 that has it's own cable slide that is a little larger to accomodate the cable that bolts to it. I think i just need a cable slide that holds the cables closer to the guard, and be able to bolt the drop away cable to it. I would assume i need to find a different cable slide, but i do like the rest and want to keep it. The Mathews cable guard comes straight back from the riser. Would they make an offset cable guard? Would another brand cable guide work? I'm not even sure if this one comes out. I just want to find the easiest way of fixing this problem.

I was pretty happy to find out this buck is still around this year. Got a couple of him last year too. Looking better than ever. Can't wait for bow season. Not a bad picture either. Photo was cropped. Homebrew BG1/P41.

Re: Mountain Lions? We hear rumors like that all the time over here in Iowa too. A DNR officer told me it would political suicide if they were to do that. Imagine the lawsuits that could happen if someone could prove that after an accident. I used to know of quite a few people that had them as pets. I believe some would get released if they became too much to handle. I bet thats where alot of them come from around here.

Re: contol board Question Hags and Brian both have regular jobs and just build these boards in their spare time. I'm sure it occupies alot of their time. They are just taking a break from all this. There are plenty of other boards out there, seems to be more all the time. Nothing lasts forever. Did seem like kind of a short run.
