  1. Re: Best Honda 4-wheeler I'd go with the Yamaha Grizzly 700 Fuel Injection. Just my opinion, had two hondas and both had major engine problems and i took good care of both of them, but it all boils down to personal preference. I would visit a couple of dealerships and test ride some of them and search for reviews on each one you like then narrow it down.
  2. Re: What is this?? Looks like a dog to me.
  3. Re: Have you ever!? I was horseback riding with my dad and uncle about 6 years ago and we came upon a fawn being attacked by dogs on the shore of a river. We ran the dogs off and my dad carried the deer back in his arms (fawn was about 1-5 days old). It was injured on it's neck and ears but not too bad so we called the Warden to come pick it up. It was cool having a little deer running around inside the house, it was suprisingly not very timid, i guess because it was so young and didn't know any better. It was a buck that might be a trophy today.
  4. Re: Aluminum or Carbon? Thanks guys, this helps alot. I saw a slow motion video of a carbon arrow and an aluminum arrow going into a target. The carbon definately penetrated better.
  5. This will be my first year bow hunting after 14 years of rifle and shotgun hunting. I have easton acc carbon arrows for my Mathews but a friend told me to shoot alum. arrows. He said that when you kill one with carbon arrows you have to cut the meat out around where the arrow goes through the deer because of contamination. Is there any truth in this? Anyway just wanted some facts and opinions on this.

  8. Re: peanut butter!! You nail or screw the cap of the pb to the tree, cut a hole in the bottom and then screw it on. It will not fall out.
  9. Re: hot weather on opening day [ QUOTE ] Cut an easy walking trail to that water source. Carry as little as possible. Don't wear a hat wile walking. Get a short haircut a few days prior. Take a ziploc bag with a washrag, a little water and some ice cubes. Wipe off your face, head and neck with a cold wet rag. Trust me on these things....in SC its hot for the whole hunting season not just the start. [/ QUOTE ] This is very true, it could be 95 on opening day here with that Carolina humidity it can feel like 105.
  10. Re: About to join the bow hunting club! Thanks man, i'm very excited about taking a deer with it, i might get hooked!
  11. Re: Hunters View Just bought and put up a Hunter's View ladder stand. I put two ratchets on it and it seems to be a pretty good stand for the money, i'll find out more on opening day i guess.
  12. Anybody have a Mathews conquest 3? I'm getting a good deal on one tom. and was just wondering if anybody has shot one or owns one, it will be my first bow, i have killed so many deer with rifles and shotguns but never a bow. Everybody tells me it is more gratifying. My buddy traded a cheap vehicle for the bow last year brand new to a guy that does archery tournaments, he said the guy got it free from Mathews from a sponsor deal but who knows, anyway, im getting the bow with five point sights, 6 Easton arrows, whisker biscuit, release, Mathews carrying case, and a 2005 summit viper climbing stand for $530. I dont know much about bows yet but i know thats a great deal i cant pass up. Just thought i would make a first post and share that with whoever wants to read it.
