I have not seen any chasing yet, but lots of new scrapes and rubs. The bucks are also reacting to grunt calls pretty good here.
  2. I planted mine in early Sept. Here in Northern Michigan. Do you think they will continue to grow in the 50 degree weather we are having? The leafs are around the size of a baseball right now. Thank You Joe
  3. Thanks for sharing the photos. How long did it take for them to get to that point?
  4. Thanks for the info guys. It sounds like my Turnip plot will be just fine. I was afraid I planted them too late.
  5. Thanks for the reply. How about the turnip? how long until that grows?
  6. What should a tunip plot look like after a month? How long does it take for the turnip bulb to grow and at what stage will the deer eat the tunip (does it have to be fully developed?).
  7. The only food I have on the property is a handful of apple trees. I see a lot of deer beds on the property though from the night time. I did plant a small oat and turnip food plot this year. Maybe that will help?
  8. Everything to the right of the diagonal road in the middle is mine (between the two houses). The group of thick trees is a swamp with a stream running through it. To the east of the swamp is a clearing and then a steep hill.
  9. Hello, I am having a bit of trouble where I hunt. I am on 20 acres across the rd from a non hunting state land parcel which is surrounded by water on three sides and is about 300 acres. The only way for the deer to leave the state land is to cross the rd to my acreage. I typically hunt 70 days out of the 90 day season and only see deer the last five minutes of daylight if I am lucky. I always try to play the wind and hardly ever get busted by a deer so there is not much pressure on them. Is there anything I can do to lure them over? What would you do? Thanks for your input.
  10. Thanks for the input. This is the biggest deer I have seen where I hunt, and I generally hunt just about every day of the bow and rifle seasons.
  11. Thanks for the welcome and the answer. I think I signed on a few years ago to ask a few questions on the chat section. Anyone else have an opinion?
  12. Hello, These are my first pictures from a trail cam. The deer is bigger than what I am used to seeing where I hunt. What do you think the age and score would be? It looks like a young deer to me. Thank You
