What caliber does everyone use for whitetail deer?
Loomis1228 replied to just-an-illusion's topic in Deer Hunting
Steyr 7mm-08 with a Leopold VXII 3x9x50. Need to buy another box of shells and it's going to hurt me to fork over $30 for it! I have: .300 Win Mag, .270 Rem, 7mm, Encore .50 Cal. I want a 25.06 in a Remington mountain rifle for my next one! -
Can you re-fi for a shorter term (slightly higher interest rate) and keep around the same payment? The only way I would refinance would be to pay it off quicker.

Whatever you do, I would base everything off of a Remington 700 action. I think most gunsmiths will tell you that the Remington action is their favorite. I would also get a nice customed stock (like a thumbhole stock), fluted barrel, mercury packs in the butt to limit shock and a crisper pull on the trigger. My brother did this a couple of years ago and his 7mm Mag feels like a .243.

I always have a hard time getting out when it's raining and I absolutely hate that my scope and my binocs constantly fog up. But I will say that 2 of the biggest bucks that I have ever seen were out chasing and/or seeking hot does in the rain. It happened to me a week ago Saturday. He winded me and ran off anyway. As far as the fog goes--got some anti-fog stuff at Sportsman's Warehouse that works well. I also pack a separate pair of gloves that I put overtop my binocs and scope to keep the rain off.

Great looking camera! I have the same camera and I have a question about it, if you don't mind. Can you get your video's uploaded on the internet? I can't for the life of me figure out how to do that. I also can't get the camera to play on my tv or the discs to play on my pc. I keep wondering what the use of having a video camera is when you can't watch the videos! Thanks!

I had 2 chevy's (a 99 and a 02) and both rearends were going out on them. They were constantly popping and cracking. They drove me crazy. I bought a brand new 05 F-150 SuperCrew and absolutely LOVE IT. It was a little rough when gas was up to $4/gallon but I made do with getting 1/2 tanks and watching what and where I went. Mine has 52k miles on it and I feel like the motor is getting stronger everytime I drive it. The cons--the gas mileage is below average. The ride on mine is a tad rough because it is the off-road package (FX4--stiffer suspension). Pros--motor is strong, frame won't squat easily under pressure or weight, transmission is easy and smooth shifting, won't rev in the red when going up hill (unlike a chevy), roomy interior, plush leather (in mine), feels like it can pull a wall off a school house...lots of low-end torque. Hope that helps.

Can you pull a boat with that thing?

There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I could deal with some stranger's bowel movements, vomit, urine or any other "movement" for that matter. I have a hard enough time dealing with my 2 year old daughter's dirty diapers. I have to breathe with my mouth open! I also couldn't cut people's hair for a living. I cannot imagine some greasy man coming in to get his hair cut that hasn't washed it in a couple of days. NO WAY.

Flyerla, I too very much respect your opinion and the homework that you did on Obama. But I too feel like you were missing a few things. According to polling, McCain did not simply pick Palin to gain the female/Hillary votes. Palin was picked because, at the time, she was a governor in Alaska that was known to break the status quo of big government and do what was right for the citizens of her state. She too was a "maverick." I was excited that a woman was picked as a VP running mate. It broke a glass ceiling that I can tell my little girl about when she gets older. Abortion has been a subject that I was a little wishy-washy on. I was more of a moderate in that area until the day my wife came to me and told me she was pregnant. I wanted nothing more (and I mean NOTHING more) in this life than the birth of a child. It completely changed my view on abortion and turned me into a pro-life supporter and an anti-stem-cell proponent. The whole George W. Bush thing sometimes blows my mind. I often think that people who watch the network news and read the local and national papers are misinformed about a lot of things. W has done a good job at keeping this country safe from further terrorist attacks. And yes, I do believe that there are a lot of dangerous and whacko people out there that want to hurt us because of our freedoms and liberties. Contrary to what the media will say, W had enough information in order to attack Iraq. I have talked to people who have served multiple tours in Iraq that tell me that it is a BAD place and they believe in operation Iraqi Freedom. A lot of focus has been shifted from Iraq because there is not a lot going on. I wonder why the media doesn't report this. I guess it's because a lot of the insurgents have been driven out, or even killed. We all can thank our brave military. People will say that we should have been in Afghanistan--take a look and see where we are. They are there. Our military is continually searching and gathering confidential information about Bin Laden. Do we all think that this information is just broadcast during the evening news? I would hope not! I do hope that our country will grow as a nation under Obama. I sincerely do. But my personal freedoms and liberties, I feel, are going to be strained under this new president. I feel that being homeless and on welfare is going to be the new cool thing to do. I feel that leaving a war zone that is not secure will hurt our homeland security and I feel that my personal wealth that I and generations of my family worked hard for is going to be spread around faster than a stick of butter. I hope that I'm wrong and I hope that things get better before they get worse.

I say--Bullet but call her some gay thing like, "Bulay" (French for Bullet but not spelled correctly). Or how about Nosler I like Remy--for Remington Kicker MOA--but actually say it like "Mow-uh" Groupee Target (Tarjay)

You know that you just can't mention something like that without posting pictures. No pics = didn't happen! -

I agree, everyone. I am a registered republican with very conservative beliefs on a lot of issues. But there are also times when I don't mind crossing the line as long as it's in line with my beliefs. However, most of the time if I vote for a democrat, it's a southern democrat, or what's called as a Blue Dog Democrat, that are conservative in voting. I will also say this: Liberals get more respect from me than a person who wants to just collect a social security/welfare/disability check from the government. Get a job and stop wasting tax payer money! Maybe I say that because I work at a bank in a county in Kentucky that has one of the highest number of out-of-work people in the entire state. I live in Lexington (Fayette County) but work in a neighboring county that shall remain nameless.
