  1. Congrats on a great buck and that's a very interesting story as well!
  2. Well I get to finally get out the shotgun for some deer hunting in Western Minnesota this weekend. I usually hunt with a rifle in NW Minnesota, but am going to a buddies land where only shotguns are allowed. What should I know about the differences in hunting styles between the two? Anything major that I should know before heading out in the woods? I do bowhunt as well so I have that background, but have never used a shotgun for deer hunting. Any advice is appreciated!
  3. congrats... that's a great looking deer
  4. Haha nice video. That is definitely a great video to watch.
  5. Those pictures are fantastic! It is amazing how many unique situations you have been able to film. Those views are some of the many reasons why I love nature. Thanks for sharing!
  6. I am also from MN, but was not able to head out this weekend. Even though I didn't go, I heard a few reports from various places around MN. The deer were not moving much in the NW, but were moving pretty well straight W. Many of my buddies had difficulties seeing deer just like you did, but they each were able to at least see a couple. I would guess the wind played a big part because the deer just sat in their bedding areas almost all day. Hopefully next weekend is better!
  7. Congrats on a great buck! From the pictures that looks like a 3 1/2 year old for sure.
  8. Good Work... it is always a good idea to sight in the gun each year. You never know what happened to it in the off season and it gives you a little practice for the upcoming year! Good luck.
  9. Congrats on finding her! I'm glad your confidence is back up and you're ready to head back out there whether it be later this year or in years to come.
  10. Congrats to your daughter and yourself! That is a very nice buck.
  11. I am also from Minnesota and believe that the next two weekends should be just about perfect. My advice is the wind is blowing hard is to set up on the ground in some decent cover where the deer may try to sneak through. The deer will more than likely not go out into the open with low visibility and blustery winds, but they will have to move at some point. Another benefit of being in a blind is the wind will move through the treetops above you and may move your scent out quickly. Good luck this weekend, I will unfortunately be stuck at college until next weekend when I'll be able to finally get out! Let us know how it turns out for you.
  12. Congrats! Every deer is exciting.
  13. Congrats on a great season so far! Good luck the rest of the season!
