The earth is still turning for this guy haha! Thankfully! Been very busy! Started a new job as a pipeliner. My boy is getting big 2 1/2 now and is a spittin image of his ole man. My wife is busy with school and work. My season was good, harvested 3 this year! One nice doe with the bow and 140inch buck and for with the slug gun. Didn't have much time to bowhunt this year due to the new job but still managed to fill the freezer and put one on the wall! Also shot my first duck and put a pheasant on the wall aswell! How have you guys been?!

the wife got me an early birthday present last year. I had the dream season scent blocker and i think she got tired of hearing me saying how cold it was mid to late season. So she suprised me with the scent blocker outfitter set. gotta admit even tho i have been on this forum for quite awhile, i use to be a mossy oak guy but this realtree ap is hard to beat. and its warm, sometimes to warm haha. this is my best buck to date but i cant take all the credit for it. buddy of mine has trail cam pics of him from years past and my other buddy found his matching set of sheds last year about 50 yards from where I harvested him. As of now i have the sheds, he brought them over after i harvested him. How long he will let me keep this is unknow lol. Either way I was in the right place at the right time. Either way this 165 inch buck is at my taxidermist and going on my wall for many more years of memories and conversation!

Was on the F.D. here for 5 years as a firefighter and EMT. Paid on call and worked 2 -3 12 hour shifts a week, plus my fulltime job. Loved every minute of it when I was single. Family and my regular job come first and I didnt want to lose any family time so I called it quits. Had a blast tho! The smell of somthin burning still gets me excited haha

There are alot of good bows out there. Can't really say anything bad about most bows now days. All I will say is that, don't go buy one because someone else has one. Make sure it feels like apart of you when your shooting it. Shoot as many as you can b4 you make a final choice, you will be alot happier in the long run!

How do everyone! Been awhile since I have posted much on here, but i'm finally back to wireless lol. Hopefully I can be on more now. Just a lil update on myself I'm still working at the forest preserve and hunting as much as possible, but also took on another full time job as a farm manager. 5 quarter horses and 280 ac. is keeping me plenny busy as well as working at the forest preserve lol. Not to mention my lil peanut and wife. Hope all is well with the Realtree friends I have made along the way here. Let me know how you all are doing!!! -Matt

Things are starting heat up ladies and gents!! Saw a 150 to 160 class lastnight chasen a doe across a picked bean field at about 3:30pm. I feel like a lil kid at Christmas :clown:

Sat tonight and saw 8 only could get bucks in bow range. No shooters. Wasn't lucky enough to get a doe in bow range. Still loved being back up a tree enjoying ole mother nature!!

What a toad!

Everything is going very well! He's a lil guy but came out breathing on his own and was on breast milk as of sunday!! He is move'n right along faster then they thought he would. All of his blood work has come back very good and he and mama are both doing great! Mama gets to come home on Wednesday but lookin like august b4 my lil man gets to come home. Gonna be alot of trips up to the hospital after work everyday on and on the weekends to spend time with my lil buddy but thats fine with me! B4 I know it he will be on here lol.

O I forgot to add... Lock up your daughters lol

I know I have been MIA for awhile but with a new house, working alot and the wife it seems like I have 10 fulltime jobs lol. Anywho.... Today is the big day for us! My boy Macklin is arriving into the world today! I'm sittin right by mama typeing this as I speak lol. Macklin is 8 weeks early, he weights 2lbs 13 ounces. He has a very strong heart beat and lungs seem to be great! But if he's anything like his daddy he will prolly take a swing at the dr when he takes him out. My wife has had some issues the past week and a half and the drs say he is better off coming out now. So at 4:30 today there doing a c-section. Keep Morgan and Macklin in your thoughts and prayers. Me on the other hand... can someone send a 6 pack of budlight to the hospital in a bag that looks has a bunch of premie camo baby clothes in it hahahaha. Hope all is well with everyone! I will try to update tonight if I have time!

Have heard many different things, good and bad about them. Everyone is different. Enjoy your trip, and as far as tipping I guess it will depend on how well you thought the guide was.

I think you did the right thing. I would of let him walk as well. It's a chance we all take when we let those kinda deer go, but when they show up next year it's all worth it.

I have been here for a good while, not near as long as alot of people but I have enjoyed the time I have spent here! It's more then a forum it's almost like family. I haven't been on much lately due to work and family life, but even tho I don't always post doesn't mean I'm not around

Muzzys are great broadheads. I have harvested alot of deer with my Muzzy 3 blades. I switched to the Rage 2 blades this year but I still have two Muzzys in my quiver on arrows ready to go!

I have been out as much as work allows. So pretty much everyday after work and on the weekends :soda: I have seen the rubs and scrapes start to really pop out the last 3 or 4 days. I didn't go out lastnight and wont tonight due to the high winds we are getting but if the winds subside I will be out tommorrow for sure. I talked with a buddy of mine the other day and he said he had a lil buck come by grunting but haven't heard of anything big being seen during daylight as of yet. It's getting close tho, supposed to be a high of 48 here Thursday, so hopefully that will help get things started!
