  1. When did you get that? Congrats man.
  2. My lab has this sore on his pad that won't go away. He has had it for over a week. I may look a little better not all that much. We think he may have burned it on the stove, but not sure. My question is, does anyone have any good solutions to healing my dog's pad? It is about teal season and I need to get him out and in shape. The worst part is he was laid up for 3 weeks before this becaue he had surgery to remove a golf ball. So I haven't been able to work with hime for more than a month. I feel bad he has been cooped up all this time.
  3. I am just test the waters here and trying to decide if I should keep my old bow or sell it. I have an elite gt500 coming in the next few days. The bow I am selling is a PSE polaris express with a 60# draw and 30in draw. I may include the accessories depending on the price. The accessories are Cobra sight, NAP quick tune rest, and 7" stabilizer, may include the quckie quiver. Shoot me an offer, like I said I may keep it as a back up, but for the right price I may let her go.
  4. What about planting native grasses around your plot edges or strips throught the middle? It would provide cover without competition. It will also benefit other animals like quail and turkeys.
  5. Congrats! I just got that Retriever Journal in the mail a couple days ago.
  6. Opening weekend was pretty slow for us. A few does and small buck's were all I saw. (That is until we were driving home and I could hit a good eight with my truck.) One of the guys in our camp did manage to get a good buck. But as always it was a great time.
  7. Had a great hunt this morning. Although I only got two birds, there were a lot around. Several large flocks of 10-15 were working the marsh. Then a few other small groups. I managed one mallard and one gadwall (I believe). I am a rookie waterfowler and have learned a ton this weekend. Most of all to wait on the birds to work all the way in before shooting.
  8. It sure is! My brother and his roommate just got 2 bucks down with the last 24 hrs or so, from the same area. I guess they saw a lot of other deer out and about even when they were dragging the deer out. They were chasing does pretty good.
  9. Do you think it is legal to access a river at a road bridge and put in a boat? I have this public area in Missouri I want to hunt and one section of it is separated from the rest by a river, and surrounded by private land on all the other sides. I may be able to wade the river if a take my waders back, but I am not sure how deep it is. What I was thinking about doing was parking at a bridge and putting a boat in to float down to the public area. If this is legal I would be able to get in to a good area very stealthily, it would be a shorter access, and easier to get a deer out. Does anyone have any idea if it would be legal to access a river this way in Missouri? I can't seem to find a number of a Game warden to ask.
  10. Congrats on the buck man! Sounds like you lincoln boys have some venison to spare now. Keep it up. I might have to ignore the ducks tomorrow and try to find some antlers to shoot at.
  11. Sorry, no pic. It is already waiting for the oven.
  12. After missing a bunch of ducks this morning I finally got some teal to decoy and was able to harvest a hen. There were a lot of birds around and a lot of them wanted to work. I just couldn't get the shooting part down. I think I need to be patient and let them get closer.

about how much would a use quad cost?
  14. I have hunted a lot of public land in Missouri. Where about are you going to be? I would say any of the northern public lands would be great. You surely would have your best opportunity for a big buck. Don't overlook the the waterfowl areas. I saw a huge 10pt protecting a doe from another littler (still a decent one) buck while I was glassing the ducks. I would think your best bet for a really big buck is the Army Corp if Engineers land along the Missouri River. They aren't easy to hunt though. Thick vegetation and not great access makes it hard to get into those areas. If you have a boat I would focus on those areas. Good luck let us know how you do.
