Nothing wong with the Wolf. I bought one for my son and one for my wife. They are smaller and lighter, better suited for smaller framed hunters. They both shoot 245 gr powerbelt aero tips and 90 gr (wife) 100 gr (son) powder (loose). They are very accurate and easy to shoot. By the way, the optima pro has a 29 inch fluted barrell. Awesome ML to shoot also!
Re: Once bad, now good
I would only eat potatoes and corn as a kid. Until I got in the Marine Corps and had to eat in the chow hall! Now I like about all of them!!
Re: WOW, A REMATCH
After watching the games last night, in between puppies being born, I think Fla will win it again. They have a better all-around game than Ohio State! But like every other sport, it depends on who shows up ready to play!!
Re: sights
I use the Copper John Pro III sight for both. 5 pins 20-60 yds. The small pins are the .019's and they do not cover up too much on the target or a deer. The slide bar lets you position it as you like and it also has third axis adjustment. You can also get a light that really helps in low light situations.
Re: Just Wondering!?!?!?
My set-up:
AR-35
70 lbs. 29" draw
Trophy Taker fall away
Copper John Pro III
Doinker Stabilizer
Scott release
Victory Archery V-Force 400 arrows
Muzzy 100 gr 3 blade broadhead
Bohning quiver
Bushnell yardage pro
Re: Release or no release?
I shoot a Scott release also. I have an older PSE Nova compound that I use for bowfishing that I shoot with fingers. I have had only 1 release fail me. It allowed the string to fire about halfway back and I put an arrow in the roof on an indoor shoot! lol
Re: Blinds? Who uses them???
We use the doghouse. I was kinda skeptical about them but after using it the first time last year we were sold! I camo'd it in with some branches and my wife killed her first deer with a bow in it! Broadside at 7 yds! We had about 8 or 9 deer within 15yds and was never noticed. It worked almost too good when the skunk came too close!!
Re: blurry?????question
I start with the pin to ensure that I am on the right one and then shift to the target. Concentrate on the spot that I want to hit and try to have a surprise release. There is no way to hold the pins completely steady, they will float. The key is the surprise release and the follow through until the arrow hits. I also shoot with both eyes open, it takes practice but I think it is more beneficial. Especially when hunting, you may see the animal move and not risk making a bad shot.
Re: Recommend a 3D Vane
I have been shooting 3-D for about three years now and all I shoot are the blazers! I just switched to the mini's this year. I hunt with the regular ones. I could tell a difference in the size of my groups with the mini's. My brother-in-law won nationals last year with them! Give them a shot, I think you will like them!!
