thanks thanks, for the comments. I did have a great time. this was my first hunt outside the states of Fl or Ga. It is a beautiful part of the county and the hunting was outstanding. i honestly don't see how anyone in the mid-west keeps a job during hunting season. It would drive me crazy being at work knowing there are some true gaints roaming around. Any way, i'm back to reality here in Fl. chasing these"small" Fl. whitetails and trying to save my money for another trip to the land of the gaints.

I had my first mid west whitetail hunt oct.25 - 30th.I bow hunted Harrison county Missouri. I saw lots of big deer( I'm from FL. they all looked big!) and plenty of bucks.I was lucky enough to take this nice 9 point. He came to a grunt call giving me a 15 yard shot.Double lung'em and he fell in sight about 60 yards from point of impact. I used 100 grain slick tricks (man did they do the job), and as you can see Realtree AP camo.I had a great time, the county was beautiful and the people were outstanding. Everyone i met was super nice and supportive.

Slicktrick 100 grain standards. Flys like a field point and good blood trails.

I have a Diamond Rapture and love it. A good bow that won't break the bank!

Thanks for the input. I've never hunting north of the state of georgia so I'm not sure what to expect. It's going to be a long year waiting for this trip. thanks again for the information

Hey guy's. I have a bowhunt set up for north east missouri the last week end of October next year (2008). Being from Florida I really don't know how to plan my trip from a gear stand point. I would like to start getting togeather the things i will need. I know that time of year the weather can vary, but what would you suggest as far as cold weather gear. Also what are some of your favorite camo patterns. I know this is kind of a general question but any help you can give me will help me start getting what i need. thanks for any help you can give and old Florida boy!

Yea, It's really cooling down this week end here in florida. low in the lower 60's and high in the lower 80's. I can't wait till my Missouri hunt later this month.

My wife and i have an understanding. She can have as many shoes as she likes, and i can have as much hunting stuff as i like. It works for us!

It is a containment rest now sold by Bowtech. It's similar to the WB, but with clearence for your vanes. it works great.

I shot Muzzys for over 15 years. However beyond 30 yards they were not nearly as accurate as my field tips. I tried the Slick trick 100's and they group like my field tips out to 45 yards ( as far as I have tried). Can't wait to put the smack down on a deer to see how they perform.

I also switched to the hostage. it's a great rest!

Storys like this is why we all love to bow hunt. The more sucess you have the easier it is to calm the nerves, but if I ever lose the butterfly feelings in my stomach, then I'll hang my bow up. Stay at it and best of luck!

I got mine today also. It flys great and is very sharp. However I think the Slick Tricks I resently bought are even sharper. Less than two weeks till i can let one fly!

When i ordered my Bowtech bow in March it took 2 weeks. With hunting season right the corner it might take a little longer, but it will be worth the wait. "This aint your daddys bow"

Basicaly you just made a Hostage rest that is sold by Bowtech. I got one in March and they work great.

Missouri for a 5 day bow hunt the first week of November. My 1st trip to the mid-west. This Florida boy can't wait!

I like the concept of the WB but didn't want to lose any speed. I purchased a rest that is now sold by Bowtech called the hostage that is very similar to the WB. It it has clearance for your vanes. No loss of speed, no flecthing damage.
