Strut, I am happy to see you brought up the NEF. I have been looking at one as a possibility. How about the NEF/H&R Pardner Pump? Any feedback? The biggest thing I noticed was the weight. It seemed to weigh a ton, but I guess that would be good for reduced recoil also.

I am looking at buying a 20ga for my 8 year old for turkey hunting. Anyone have suggestions on makes/models? Thanks

Ok, I have finally decided to spend the money and buy the new rifle. I have settled on a Kimber Montana. I have pretty much made up my mind on the 300WSM. What I am wondering is opinions on the following caliber choices vs the 300WSM. 7mm WSM 325 WSM Will hunt primarily white tail and mule deer in NW Kansas at ranges of 100-300 yards, but also elk, bear, etc. I realize that all 3 will do the job, just looking at pros/cons of each. Thanks for the help.

Well, I have been looking for awhile. Posted awhile ago about Kimber vs. Sako. Still very interested in the Kimber, but found a used Remington 700XCR Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation in 300WSM with a Burris Short Mag Scope. They are wanting $950, which I think is a great deal, so now I am considering it.

Assuming that they are discontinued. Can't find anything on their website, etc. What are they comparable to? Fullfield II, Signature,....?

Well, I am still shopping around and found a used Rem 700XCR over the weekend. The 700 XCR is the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation model in a 300WSM, which if I am not mistaken was in 2006. It is fitted with a Burris Short Mag nickel scope. They are wanting $950 for it. Was not considering a Remington, but this seems too good to pass on. Any input on the XCR?

Can someone tell me about the 325wsm? Haven't heard much about it. Thanks

Wondering if anyone has shot a Kimber Montana in 300WSM or 338 Federal? I am curious as to the about of thump b/c of the lightweight kevlar composite stock @ 6.1lbs (300WSM)and 5lbs(338 Fed). Thanks

The Sako 75 in a 300 Win Mag is a model that the factory gave out for a review/article. Dealer received this rifle from the factory, stating that he was passing on the savings to whom ever buys the rifle. Dealer stated that Sako factory stamps these review rifles with a 'y' next to the serial number, so that you know what they are. This one is not stamped. After looking the rifle over, it appears to have not been fired at all. Dealer said that this is very possible and could be why it is not stamped. He is asking $995. Is this a good price? Thanks

Mainly Whitetail and Mule Deer in NW Kansas. Wanting something that can be used for Elk, Bear, etc. also.
