  1. I think I've tried almost everywhere but figured this might actually be the best bet. I'm looking for an Under Armour Cold Gear Mock T in blaze orange. Bass Pro used to carry them but no longer do. I contacted UA and they actually no longer make that color. I wanted to see if anyone out there might now where I could possibly find some still in stock somewhere. I would need a 3X size for the UA. Thank You
  2. Thank you all very much!! Thanks Toddyboman!
  3. I have a Reflex Buckskin and have had no problems with it. I like it very much.
  4. I am looking to purchase a bow for my son who is almost 8 years old. I went to Bass Pro the other day and had his draw length measured and his draw weight. The guy at BP reccomended a bow from Diamond (a Bow Tech company) that has a limb exchange program. As the child grows and becomes stronger you can call the company and they send you out a whole new set of cables, strings, and limbs for a higher draw weight. It goes all the way from 10-20 lbs up to 40-50 lbs. You pay them $40 and you get all that stuff delivered directly to Bass Pro and they put it all together for you. Not sure how much BP charges to put everything on but it sounded like a pretty good deal to me. Now the only down side is that the upfront price is $299 for everything except arrows and a release. I know there are other youth bows on the market for much less but they don't have the let off and the scaleability of this bow. Has anyone heard of this program and can possibly give me any other advice on a good bow for my son? Thanks!
  5. Wow. I wish the average salary here was $50k. I'm sure my wife (a teacher) would appreciate that too.

    Hogs

Those are some nice little piggies.
  7. I went with age but alot of things go into to it. If we need some meat for the freezer then I'll pretty much go for any doe. However if I get a shot at a smaller doe rather than a larger one I will try and go for that one. Dad always says that the more mature does will be more likely to have twins or triplets the next year so to let them go. In a buck though we're trying to impliment QDM and only take the older more mature bucks so we can try and build up the buck population some and let the smaller bucks go.
  8. Good idea! I'll be up there real soon so I'll have to go out there and take some pics from the inside looking out. Not to mention some updated photos of the interior.
  9. Well I'm fairly new here so I guess there must be some unwritten rule about guys posting in the "Girls Room" But anyway....I've seen the show you are referring to and I would do it. I can't say that it would be easy or comfortable. As a matter of fact it would probably suck, but it would make you appreciate all the things that we take for granted every minute of every day. It would probably be good for kids too to kinda help them see how tough life really can be and how it used to be. It might help them better establish more of a work ethic too.
  10. Those are some good pics. I'd like to add to that this year. I've shot bow off and on for several years but I'm going for my first kill this year. Todd and I are going to try and video me getting my "Thwak" on on a nice big doe.
  11. My Dad found, from what we could all tell, was probably 4 or 5 sets of matching sheds in the field not more than a couple hundred yards from the stand. It was this spring when the CRP was still all green. Todd had the chance to go out and look, my dad said it was ok, however decided not to since he'd already found "a few" out there.
  12. We've only hunted out of it for a couple years now and I think the only person to kill a deer out of it was my brother, and he killed a doe. We're trying to get the bucks bigger out there and do the QDM to make it a better habitat for them, so nothing huge yet. A guy on a neighboring piece of property killed probably a 160 class buck about two years back that my dad had been seeing come on to our land every night. That kind of stinks.
  13. That is a sweet looking ride. That would be nice to have one of those with the dump bed and winch and all. My wife actually suprised me on Father's Day this year with a 2002 Camo Polaris Sportsman 500 HO (high output). Anyway since I still live in the city I haven't had a chance to get it in the mud just yet. Congrats on the new wheeler!!
  14. Wow those are some great pictures Todd. I've GOT to go out with Del sometime. You did a great job at getting those pics of those bucks. I'm sure it was difficult getting the shots.
  15. Wow Todd, those are some good pics. You'll have to get me copies of those that I can give to Dad. Tell Del thanks. Well since you asked nicely I will enlighten the fine folks with a little more information about the "condo". When my dad built the condo he decided to put in 12 volt electricity in the place. He ran wires and the whole bit. He's got outets and everything. It's all hooked up to a marine battery and it also has a solar battery charger hooked up to keep the battery charged. There are outside lights hooked up as well. He keeps a cot out there to sleep on. There are two recliners in the stand, one is a camo one. He's got a coleman camp stove in there to cook on. He fries fish, and also makes eggs and sausage. He's also got a full size kitchen table and chairs. That's about all that I can think of Todd, anything else that I forgot?
  16. Hmmm........who do you know that ALSO has a pair of camo crocs? Copycat! :D:D
  17. I agree with you Todd, I don't like tomatos either. The only thing I would do with them is make salsa. I love to make my own homemade salsa. I bet those garden fresh tomatos would be great in it.

    new game

Dang.....after about 15 minutes of trying I finally got it out the window and it went a total of 56.676m. I'm going back to keep trying.
  19. Thank you for all the nice comments. I'm know my dad would appreciate all of your comments. Take it from Todd the few pics that I have put up here do not do it justice. My dad often spends a couple days at a time in the "condo", especially during deer season. He loves to show it off to folks. He goes out there every weekend and drinks coffee while watching the sun come up.

    youth season

That's a good question. My son is 7 and I still think he's a little young to be firing a high power rifle. The smallest caliber that I would be comfortable using is a .243. That's the gun that I've used with the exception of the first couple years when I used a 20 guage shotgun with a slug and it has worked wonderful for me. I upgraded this off season to a Browning 270 WSM and this year will be my first gun season with that. Maybe I should get a .243 youth model. Is 7 too young or not?
  21. I'm new here so I originally posted these pics of my dad's deer stand in a thread that was a month old, not knowing that nobody would see them. I had to come back and brag for my dad a little bit. He put lots of hard work into this stand. He's been working on it now for about two years, but now it's pretty much done inside and out. It's 12x12 on the inside with a 6 foot porch on three sides. The deck is covered on two sides with the front exposed. #1 - You can see the porch and the windows. They open fully to shoot out of and tilt in for easy cleaning. #2 - Closer view. #3 - During the construction phase. This is what you see coming in off the field road. #4 - A view of the interior during the construction. We were cleaning up a bit. Now there are 2 recliners in there (one of course is camo). Can't beat hunting out of recliner. This was the only interior shot I had on my computer right now. I'll have to get more updated ones next time I go out to the farm. Now the inside has walls made of part old barn siding and part cedar boards with a chair rail in the middle.
  22. Nice pics. It's a great group of bachelors. Beautiful animals.
  23. GEEZ! Wish I could get a crack at a buck like that one. Good luck! He's a great looking buck.
