Been strange season so far here in central WI. I've been hunting hard the last 2 weeks with nothing to show for it. It has been unseasonably warm and it is making the deer nocturnal. I passed up a 6 pointer 2 weeks ago that I would have shot had I known what I was in store for. I did have an encounter with a big 10 last week but it came straight from behind me and never got closer than 40 yards. I'm headed to gun camp on Wednesday and hopefully will have something to report by Thanksgiving. Good luck all.

My opener is Saturday but it'll be a week and a half before I'm in the stand. I'm helping a buddy bear hunt this weekend. Almost hard to believe summer is already over!

I managed to get into my stand for about 7 hours last weekend and didn't see a thing. The weather was terrible but I figured I'd see something. All the activity has been at night. I have a few days off next week to hunt hard so hopefully things pick up.

What state? i hunted for 5 years in OK and it was a blast.

Nice job fly. I passed up an 8 yesterday morning that would have been my biggest buck to date but isn't nearly as big as some of the bucks on the farm. I hope I don't regret not shooting it. He stopped at 12 and 17 yards almost asking to be shot. I saw 3 bucks sparring the other night. Things are certainly heating up.

Saw 6 does and a bunch of turkeys on my hunt this past weekend. I'm not a big fan of hunting when it is warm so I'm hoping for cooler temps. It looks like they will be arriving next week.

Looks like I'm the only one in season right now. Hoping to drop a doe tonight and get our team on the board.

For the second year in a row I did not see a deer during our gun season. It is getting very frustrating. I have two weeks yet to bow hunt and there is a late season doe gun hunt I will do if needed. Nice work on the deer everyone.

Deer season was terrible in my neck of the woods. We had 10 guys hunting until Tuesday and we only managed to see 2 deer between all of us. If deer camp wasn't so much fun I'd start gun hunting around my hometown where I bow hunt. Instead of ice fishing I'm now going to have to hunt this weekend and into the late season doe hunt just to put meat in the freezer. It sounds like a lot of people are in the same boat as me. Edit to add: nice job on the deer.

I haven't connected on anything yet during bow season. I will be out Sunday trying again. With all the snow we got the food plots should be good to sit over. I leave next week for 10 days at my deer camp for gun season. I hope these terribly cold temps go away for that week.

I'll be in my stand all day Saturday and Sunday if needed. The weather looks to be decent and the deer activity has gone way up as of late. Hopefully I'll have something to add to the team by Monday.

With the wind blowing all night and the temps rapidly dropping it felt more like January this morning than October. I'm hoping the snow we got sticks around for tomorrow morning so I can see where the deer are moving on the farm.
