Wife and I bought a 2010 Ford Fusion and it has the no cap setup. I like it and I think it is basically like the NASCAR filler tube. Had the car for 1 1/2 years now and no problems.

I am using the H&R slugger in 20 ga. with the thumbhole stock shooting Hornady SST's in it and it is a tack driver. Sighted in 2 1/2" high at 50 yds dead on at 150 yard. I can cover 3 shots with a 50 cent piece at 50 yards benched up. The only thing is you have to run a brush down the barrel after 7 or 8 shots as the plastic will fowl the rifling in the barrel and it starts to shot a little off. I was using 870 12 ga. and decided to go with the 20 ga. because the slug technolgy is so great. I have shot three with it, 2 dropped in their tracks and the other went 10 yards. The longest shot was 100 yards. Good luck.

I usually cut them in half (fronts & backs) then par boil them with some onions. Later I put some crisco in a pan and brown them on both sides

We had it here in Delaware a 2 years ago. We had real dry weather and the knats were bad. They supposedly found quite a few (over 20) on the Bombay Hook Wildlife Area. It was throughout the state. We are still seeing the effects of it.

The best thing you can do is go to a pro shop and shoot several different bows to see what feels right to you. The next thing is to look at the warranties on the bows. I worked in a pro shop part time and we carried several differebnt lines but some warranties don't cover as many things as others. Also at a pro shop you can get fitted to your draw length and set for the right poundage for you to hold comfortably. You can invest alot of money and you want it to be right after you get it. We would set them up and let you shoot them to see how well it felt and if you bought it we would oput all the acessories on and take you to the range to get everything sighted in. Good luck.

I have a H & R 20 ga. slugger that I shoot Hornady SST's in and you can drive tacks with it. I have not had one get away yet. They do so nasty damage. The main thing is I have found that you get fowling in the barrel from the sabot not only on this gun but on 2 other rifled barrels that I have. You need to run a brush down them after every 6-8 shots or they stsrt to wonder on you a bit. I shot 12 ga. lightfields and the only thing with them is that they are so hard and just punch a hole and don't expand enough. They are accurate but hard. I had a buddy that shot copper solids in his 870 and mine with the same barrel setup wouldn't shot them worth a crap. You deffenitily need to shot some different brands to see what works best. Get them cut nice and thick then butterfly them and stuff them with stove top pork stuffing put them in the oven to bake. You'll love them. I do the same thing with chicken breast. I pound them out till they are about 1/4" thick and put stuffing and cheese in them and roll them up and bake them.

I bought an H & R ultra slugger in 20 ga. I love it and it doesn't kick at all. Shooting 2 3/4 " Hornady SST's in it and it will drive tacks. I have an 870 in 12ga. with a rifled barrel and still will use it some. 3 shots at 2.5" high at 50 yards could cover with 50 cent piece and dead on at 150 yards. Shot a small button buck at 85 yards late season and fell on the spot. Don't under estimate the 20 ga. with the new slug technology. Good luck.

I picked it up on 1/18 and got it sighted in on 1/21. I will be hunting with it on 1/26. It is sweet. I am using Hornady SST slugs in it . I sighted it in 2.5" high at 50 yards according to the box and I am dead on at 150 yards. I shot 2" group at 50 yards. That was 4 shots and cold as h***.

Both are good guns but I would lean towards the 870. I have had both and the 870 is a tighter gun. The mossberg is loose fitting in the forearm and the slide. When deer hunting you have to be careful not to make noise with it when you pick it up. My brother-inlaw has one that is the same way. AS far as the thumbhole that is personal preferance. I would think it would be alright if you were only deer hunting with it. But for jump shooting or quick shots it would likely be a problem getting your thumb in the hole. Good luck on your choice,

Going to pick up my gun tonight. Then go home and put my scope on it. I am hoping to sight it in on Sunday. The weather is calling for windy with a chill factor in the single digits.Hopefully the wind won't blow that's the only thing I am worried about.

We had dinner at our house on Christmas day. MY mom usually has it every year because that is her thing. My dad had a mini stroke on Dec 3rd and I told her we would have it at my house. She was crying because this is the first year in 50 years she hasn't had it. Dad is doing alot better and the dinner was great having everybody there. Happy New Year to all.

Went in to the local sporting goods store and put a H & R ultra slugger 20 ga. on layaway (12/26)I have been on the net and got a slug comparison chart off the NRA web. Excellent info to have.Hope to have it by mid Jan as I get my bonus from work after the first of the year. Hope to have it in time to hunt with the last couple of weeks of the whitetail season. It's hard to believe that the season has come and gone so fast. Happy New Year to everyone.

I am getting ready to try and make duck jerky. I got my smoker working. My buddy is going to drop some off to me tomorrow. I grind my deer meat and use High Mountain seasoning with my jerky shooter.I made some venison summer sausage from a kit I got from Cabeleas. I made it 15 lbs. at a time and the only problem with it is it disappears very fast around my house. Gone in a week.

I am going to get one after christmas. I told my kids to just get me a gift certificate to the local sporting goods. I know some guys that have them and the only thing you have to do is keep the barrel bushed out. After every 5 or so shots they start to get eractic from the plastic that builds up in the rifling.They all love them. I think I'm going to go with a 20 ga. I have a 12 ga 870 with rifled barrel. Here they are $225 for the walnut/blued and $275 for the laminated stock w/o scope in the ultra slugger.

No. I found a recipe in a wild game cook book. It had 5.5 oz. can of veggie juice. powdered onion, ground ginger,water soy sauce and worchestersour sauce. Liquid smoke if doing it in the oven. I plugged in the smoker and it was shorted out. So I had to use the oven and did not put liguid smoke in the marinade.

I made my first batch of goose jerky last night. Turned out pretty good considering my smoker shorted out when I plugged it in. I ended up doing it in the oven. I think I will tweak the recipe a little but it sure is good. Has anybody else made goose jerky?

A can of cream of mushroom soup along with the potatoes, carrots and onions works real well.

Does anyone have plans for a sneak box or simular type layout boat? I am looking for plans so my son and I can build it. I have looked on the web and there are several books with plans in them. Thought maybe someone out there might have a set I could get copies of. Thanks

I use the High Mountain and the lems and both are good. I bought a jerky shooter and I really like it. I just got a summer sausage kit from Cabelas and made 15# of it the other day from a deer I shot last week. It really turned out good. I lucked out a buddy had a freind that was throwing away an electric meat grinder and a sausage press. He got it for me . They only used them one time and the guy said it was to much work. They had been sitting on the shelf a the shed for about 15 years. It is work but the rewards are worth it.

I have a buddy of mine that is trying to get some but he wants the R.R.(roundup ready) to plant. It's supposed to be the hot ticket for dove. Does anybody know where you can get the RR stuff?

I have had API, Timber Tall and Buckshot. I just got a Loggy Bou pro staff and love it. It folds flat and the cable system is great. It has the ADC seat. (all day comfort) It's like a bow it's what feels right for you.

The biggest problem some people make is that they don't put enough water on per acre. And also the smaller the tips in your sprayer the better your coverage on the plant will be. Also so weeds shut down when under drought stress and it will take longer to kill them.Some chemicals tell you not to spray when weeds are under stress. Check your lable and see about how many gallons per acre is recommended. Also if you buy roundup from a farm supply store it will be different than say a Lowes or home Depot. The commerical stuff will have a sticker agent helping it stick to the plant better.Good luck.
