  1. William, A LOT of good , Intelligent Christian Men have fallen by the wayside, so surely they could be naïve enough to fall into into of Satan's traps. My experience is that the fall usually starts small, and graduates up. Ok, having finished with my preaching, Im sorry to say that I have no concrete knowledge of the free masons, except their works look good on the surface. My church ( Free Methodist) will not let you be accepted into full membership if you are a free mason, so I suspect there is more there than meets the eye( again just my suspicion). What was explained to me at membership class was that to be a member of the free Masons, you would have to make some pledges that would be contrary to giving full allegiance to Christ. On a side note, its kind of interesting that right now I am preparing to speak to a group of men, and the topic will be how important for each of us to discover, and take ownership of his own beliefs/theology, and not depend on what we are told by others, wether they be pastors, friends, or whatnot. I applaud you for digging in for information. Lane
  2. Good for you Chris. I can imagine the stress you must have.
  3. Congrats on a great time Bug......sounds like you had it coming with all the OT at work.
  4. Prayers for you from pa. Ross
  5. This is getting to be a sick joke!!! I worked all winter on a project boat.......Its ready and so am I!!
  6. They say good pitching beats good hitting, and good defense beats good offense, but I say Denver has Seattle for lunch!......I will also take a team of 9 Albert Pujols......
  7. I remember the outrage at motels gouging during hurricane Katrina........ this propane thing is no different. I understand the concept of supply and demand. but $5.00 a gal??? somebody should be going to jail to think that one over.
  8. I quit believing in coincidences when I started believing in God....... When I was a kid, I had a Plymouth duster with a roll open sunroof....... had the roof open whenever it wasn't raining. I was just so cool! One day the crank broke, and the roof wouldn't open........that's the day I rolled it over and slid down the road on the roof! My angel was on the job 25 years before I became a believer!
  9. Will be glad to pray for her.
  10. Will be giving praise for the good news, and prayer for continued good health for your family.
  11. Good on you buddy, a guy never forgets his first truck.
  12. I think different versions are needed because of the way speech ahs evolved.....a book written in strict kings English is of limited value now. My thinking is that when new revisions are written, they aren't just revisions of the last revision, but rather revisions in modern language of the original manuscripts. I also believe the scriptures are words given to us from the mind of God. However, I will say. even if I wasn't a Bible believer, it sure seems like the words of the Bible represent a good way of living.....with no exceptions. sorry for the tread hijacking.
  13. yep all the above problems....sometimes worse than others
  14. Well Crippleshot, being able to offer a sincere apology is something im not very gifted at, so you are one up on me there! Anyways, I actually agree with most of what you posted, Its just that, as the old saying goes you draw more flies with honey. As far as evangelism is concerned, My policy is to show them Jesus....at least thats a great starting point. Lane
  15. You are still on my prayer list Bug!
  16. Wow, I like to think Im about as serious about my Christianity as a guy can be, But I just don't think coming into a hunting forum with 5 posts under your belt and reaming everyone collectively a new one is just the best way to win some new converts . Lane
  17. Just kind of wondering what you all think of the various scent killers out there on the market now, and what particular ones you might have had luck with or no luck with. Honestly ive never been a fan because in years gone by , I did everything possible to kill scent, including expensive clothes, showers, sprays, and I still got busted. Lately, ive just been washing clothes in unscented detergent, and showering, and getting busted a bunch. I would be willing to try the sprays out there if I thought they would help, but I absolutely wont spend $400 on scent lock again. Thanks Lane
  18. Thanks for the help guys. I have a small 1320 tractor, and the drag I made is working pretty good. the dozer finished this morning. Its mighty dry right now. the top is loose down at least a couple inches everywhere. so if I can get the rocks and roots out and some dragging done, I should be ready to put some seed down.
  19. I have cleared about 2-3 acres behind my house to make a bigger yard for my wife, and a food plot for me to sit and watch the deer and turkeys. right now, the stumps are removed, and the dozer is doing rough grading. I have a small Ford tractor with a lift, and I just built a drag out of an old skidder chain. That's all the equipment I have access to. Ive never built a food plot. any suggestions would be appreciated. Lane
  20. My opinion- you are overthinking yourself. put your stand up.........give the deer time to get used to it if possible. control scent as best you can and hunt it.
  21. well........ heres a thought. Its just 1 more way to have something mechanical doing a job designed for humans, so more humans can sit home and get more of that free Obama money!!
