  1. Is the Winchester one of the new production models? I have a Winchester Mod 70 in 30-06 but mine is wood and was one of the last ones produced with the old company. I love mine but the workmanship on mine leaves a LOT to be desired. Best of luck to you on your sheep hunt and with the Model 70!! Scott
  2. For Sale - Franchi 912 VarioMax 3.5" 12 ga. with 26" barrel in Max-4 camo. The gun has less than 1 case of shells through it. I am asking $550 for the gun, hard case, chokes, and all original items/papers. The $550 price includes shipping to your designated FFL. The gun includes the Franchi hard case, three original chokes (never used), two Trulock Extended Precision Hunter Chokes - Skeet II (710) and Modified (705), comb adjustments, etc. I am selling this because 1) I own four other 12 ga shotguns and don't duck hunt like I use to, and 2) I am trying to raise cash to buy a new barrel for my Winchester Model 70 rifle. I will take cashiers check, money order, or PayPal. I will ship the gun within 24 hrs of receipt of payment and a signed copy of the FFL. I have more images if you want me to email them to you. Just shoot me a PM or email me at sspencer4626 @ charter dot net Scott Spencer Pelham, Alabama
  3. Perhaps I have it all wrong but I think there is a difference in some "high fenced" hunts. I realize that anything in a fence can't run away but I believe there is a difference when there is 20,000+ acres and the game have never had human contact. You still have to call them in and you still have to use camo, cover your scent, etc. If the place is a petting zoo and you just go shoot something then that is a different story. Surely all high fenced hunts aren't "come shoot our human friendly game" are they? I almost went on a high fenced hunt but decided to go with an outfitter for my first ever elk hunt and first ever hunt out west. It is coming up in October and I can't wait! Scott
  4. Believe me, I've tried Google a hundred times. Those links are to websites in England and for Max-1 sweatshirt jackets at Bass Pro Shops. Only the Roadtrips XLT jacket, for almost $200, is listed.
  5. Thank you, Steve. That is disappointing as I am having a world of trouble finding a jacket/parka in the Max-1 pattern. I guess the pattern is old enough now that no one is really offering it like they use to. Scott
  6. I visit and post on Sagecreek forums and the Primos forums.
  7. Does Realtree have a retail store at their corp headquarters in Georgia like Mossy Oak does in West Point, MS? Thanks! Scott
  8. Thanks, Buckee!! I'll check it out. Thanks to Zirkel as well. With a rifle, and the right wind, I shouldn't need to worry about it as much as I do in my whitetail hunting.
  9. Thank you for the welcome and the advice about Whitewater! I'll go check them out and see what I can come up with. I think I found some scentlok pants in Max 1 at BPS online for $99.95 a pair. Maybe there is hope for me yet. Scott
  10. I'm new to the board but I was wondering why I am having trouble finding the Max-1 pattern in some scentlok or scentblocker pants. In fact, I'm not finding a lot of pants in Max-1 at all. I'm going on my first elk hunt in Colorado (Oct, 1st rifle) and I would really like to use the Max-1 pattern. I know the weather changes a lot at that time of year in Colorado so I feel like I may need more than just some lightweight archery weight clothing. Can anyone recommend some sources for the Max-1 pattern that I am missing? I've tried google and yahoo with not much success. Is the Max-1 just not that popular? Thanks for any suggestions!! Scott
