Virtual age: 33 Actual: 38 Life Ex. 80 I guess that's pretty good.

I'd keep telling the DNR "right no cats, no bears, no whatever". That way they are not protected which means "Open Season!" No tags, no draws, no season! Just good old school hunting!

If I remember correctly the murders in the cases presented killed themselves. I doubt that armed students/teachers would have caused them any fear. Possibly a change of plans, but why would they be scared of being shot when that was their plan all along? I doubt the student said anything that warrented the professors actions and I agree there have been times that I would have felt a lot better with a gun ready if I needed it. I've heard students say things like: "I paid $$$ for this class and I'm going to pass it one way or another." However, if I get to carry so would the students. The shootings in academic institutions are tragic and I wish I knew of a way to prevent them. However, in my opinion allowing guns in the classroom would be inviting more fuel to the fire.

Not sure from your discription HUNTINGMAN, but you could be using using CPAP or BiPAP (Bi-level positive airway pressure). Some people have an easier time with BiPAP since the pressures are different when you breath in compared to when you breath out. I know a guy that has sleep apnea and has a generator that runs it during the night when he's at deer camp. It takes some getting used to. If you are indeed using CPAP and having trouble you may want to discuss BiPAP with your doctor.

Frank, I'm glad to know you. It's acts like yours that will see our country through these hard times. It's the giant corporations that seem heartless to me. They don't know and therfore don't care about their emplyees to the degree you have demonstrated.

Sure thing... "me back" Welcome to the forums!

That's pretty good, but I think ya need more grey in the beard! Oh yea, and the top half of the head should be cut out of the picture.

What's David Blanton's number! That's too bad Tim. I was really looking forward to seeing it. When you hear of it coming out on the website or wherever let us know.

The professor was wrong, but I can see how it happens. Fear can cause people to do a lot of things. I'd be pretty worried if students were allowed to have guns in the classroom and I have no doubt that students would be getting A's that didn't deserve them. http://www.kmov.com/localnews/stories/kmov_localnews_070725_siuethreat.ac829128.html

Sorry to hear that Frank. Gotta be a tough thing for you to do. Do you see the stimulus package helping or hurting your business?

I've researched this bill and discussed on different forums. Has nothing to do with the President of the United States (I sense an unnerving amount of hostility towards the President. Come on guys, just because I don't like Rod Blagojevich doesn't give me the right to blame him for the earthquakes in California.) What the bill does have to do with is taking the power away from the ILDNR and giving it to Illinois politicians. Whether one agrees/disagrees with the changes in the season dates is not so much the issue here. Why should a politician be allowed to change the seasons when the ILDNR is more qualified to handle such issues? As far as what is in the bill: I wouldn't mind seeing the youth season occur the weekend before the archery season starts. I think it would interfere less than having it in mid-October just before the pre-rut as it was last year. In addition no archers would be in the field yet so youth would not have to worry about screwing up someone elses hunt.

Yea, I'd be getting out of the lazy boy to answer that call alright.

Glad to be aboard fellas! I've got a permit for April 13th -17th in Union county IL. I'll be hunting the 15th, 16th, and 17th and possibly the 14th. Trying to arrange my work schedule is tough this time of year. Last year I only had a couple days to hunt. I called in some jakes but couldn't close the deal in the heavy rains. Hope the weather cooperates this year! As far as names I'm fine with whatever you all like best. A couple more to throw in the pot: The Purrr...fectionists. The Head Banging, Waddle Whacking, Feather Spreaders.

You remember correctly William. When I first harvested it back in November I asked memebers what they thought he'd score. I did measure it myself, but my unofficial score was off several inches (I always underestimate). Now that I have the official score as well as the funds to finance the "prize" I thought we'd play again. Things are a bit dead this time of year so I thought this might spice things up a bit. Tom2008, thanks for that information! I think most hunters would have a heck of a time getting through that shoulder blade! (Well except for Gary, because from the picture it looks like he chucked that spear right through it). BTW... Gary will be guiding the trip so if you want to back out I'll understand. Dakota, so far you're in second place (Gross score). Frank (Rookie) you're net is very close! Need a Gross from ya if you want to time travel.

I never really noticed till you mentioned it, but it sure looks like it. I guess hunting was so much a part of their life that bringing the youngens was just the normal thing to do. Some pretty close guesses there but no one's right on the Gross yet. One thing I'll mention is that the inside spread of 20&3/8 inches didn't help the score any because it was greater than both main beams. I had to enter the main beam length for spread credit.

Yea he is! At first I too thought he was an ugly old weathered and beaten down by the elements Eskimo, but upon further investigation I discoverd that it's actually Gary! Great throw there bud!

Nothing for me to add except a hardy welcome!

Now that I have an official score let's see who wins the prize. This time the prize is an all expense paid trip back in time to hunt the massive (and now extinct) Irish Elk! Below is my 2008 8-pointer taken with a slug gun in IL.Let's hear both the gross and net, but closest to the Gross wins the prize!

Same here.

It would be for black bear hunting. It's pretty tough to carry in a bait and rifle at the same time and I'd feel better knowing I had "something" just in case my 300 RUM failed. Thanks for the suggestions everyone, keep them coming I'm not sold as of yet.

Was thinking the same thing. Perhaps a lot of people associate cops with fines for speeding or other traffic/parking violations (THAT THEY DESERVE) and don't feel inclined to help. Or maybe they are just sissy's. Glad to see he was honored and not charged with brutality.

Thoughtful questions there queenie. This one doesn't require as much thought, but why must many/most teenage girls start every sentence with the word "like". Like, do you know what I'm saying?

Ironic that you would post this Gary. Just yesterday morning I was reviewing the Legendary Whitetails web site looking at the Jordan Buck and reading the interesting story behind it. My favorite buck of all time would have to be "The General".
