Well, I must say today's pine wood derby went much better for my son than mine did some 30 years ago. We spent a lot of time togther working on his car and prior to the race I explained to him the importance of having fun together regardless of who won. Boy it sure was nice to see him pull out a second place finish though. I'll never forget what he said to me after walking up to get his trophy and then walking back to me and his mom. As he held his trophy he looked up at me with a big smile and unprovoked said, "Dad, thanks for helping me work on my car." Today life is good.
