  1. I bought a BOWTECH GENERAL and I love it. Contact Michael Scott at Hunter's Friend, he is a great guy to deal with. the other day I got a call from him regarding the RECALL from Bowtech. He made arrangements to pick up my bow and ship it via Fed Ex with a 24 hour turn around time to fix the limbs. I am new to bow hunting and they made it very easy. I highly recommend this company.
  2. Nice Lookin Birds. It was opening day in CA. today. The birds were thick. I must say that my new AJ's custom Call had them singing. My boy and I got a Tom each. his was 19lb 8 Oz, and my was 17 Lb 6 Oz. both beards were about 8". The spurs were about 5/8's. The first half of the day the birds either busted us, or locked up??? Went to our 2nd ranch and saw 12+ toms.....
  3. Went to a friends ranch in Northern Ca. to go hog hunting with my BT General. This was the 1st official bow hunt EVER. I have been practicing for months wanting to get proficient with the bow before I went hunting. We saw over 50 hogs throughout the day. I finally found the one I wanted within a range I was happy with. Actually he picked me. He came running up behind me and he was about 10 yards away when I gave him the THWACK. My buddy is a long time bow hunter and he too was pleased with the placement. A through shot with good lung blood. The pig ran about 50 yards and laid down. ALL is good right.... WRONG. a few minutes later a pack of pigs came through and attacked, chased and scared my pig. I could her him squealing and carrying on. When it came time to track the blood trail, I saw two big puddles of blood, and a blood trail that went all over **** and back (circles). Spent hours tracking, with NO LOVE???? I saw where he began to roll in the soft dirt, I guess he was tending to his wound, cuz after that the blood trail got slim? Has anyone seen this before. I know pigs will eat each other, I've seen it before, but how should I address this in the future, besides killing them all.
  4. I had been looking for a custom made call for a little while. I cant remember how I found this site/forum, but Im glad I did! Within minutes, I saw that AJ's Custom Calls was the guy I needed to talk with! I emailed Andy back and forth a few times, until we dialed in the exact call I wanted and NEEDED! Needless to say I have a work of art now, and it works. My family has a few acres here in Northern Ca., and I played with the call and had a great time. I called a bunch of birds in. These last few days have been like spring time. CANT WAIT, OPEN, OPEN, OPEN, OPEN!!!!! Thanks Again Andy. In response to the fact that they are too pretty to take in the field. BUY 2. One for the mantle, one for the vest!
