AMEN Elkoholic ! Well said brother. We usually try and wait until a buck is 3.5 before we would consider shooting, but a good way to judge a deer is by asking yourself "will I mount this buck" ? If not, you may as well pass on him. If your not going to put him on the wall whats the point, plenty of culls and does to fill the freezer. JMO

I got the t-shirt too......and live by it.......and it got me to thinking.........Most of us are married so deer camp is our place to get crazy and wild........ I love women, but not a huge fan of women in deer camp. I mean the dudes I hunt with including myself are "the missing link" ! We are cavemen. We piss and fart and eat and drink and do whatever where we want to...........a woman in camp would mess up our free spirit neanderthal ways man........Ha ! LOL.........I mean we do have a wives weekend and everyone tones things down but a normal weekend can get extreme with the drinking, dominos, trash talking.........Im just running my mouth so I hope no one got offended.

This is one of the guys at our hunting camp goofing off I CANNOT wait to get this season going.......Deer Hunters show in Houston next month. Sept. 1 is dove season, the end of Sept. we plant clover, and then November is game time.......

I dont think its about the size of the buck. Its the hunt itself. your 1st buck, who your with, where your at, had a great time.......My first buck was a 7pt I killed with a good friend of mine. I didnt mount the buck, and since that time I have wished I would have 1000 times, and recently the buddy that was with me in the stand when I shot it, died......and that just makes the wish even more I woulda mounted it. Its what the buck means to you

This is a spike I shot last year in Blanco, Texas. Its the biggest spike Ive ever killed and the biggest Ive ever seen.......Anyway, I did a skull mount on him, turned out well.

I'd re-mount it if your dad would enjoy it or if you want it for sentimental reasons........Nice horns
