I have been guiding bear hunts in saskatwan for 12yrs now and what we do to help hunters out to judge bears is we will take orange ribbon and rap it around trees at 45 gallon drum hieght.if a bear back is up to the ribbon pull the trigger.as for the ears you can't always go by that some huge bears have huge ears.when I am hunting them and a bear comes in and looks like a 45gal drum walking I shoot. We hunt over bait there.If your spot and stock try and get as close as you can,and take your time to figure out the size.they are very hard to judge when they out a couple 100yrds.here is the last bear I shot and he had huge ears his skull was 20" but when I seen his belly draggin on the ground I knew he was a shooter.

I shot this buck on the 4th day of the season(september)I had him come by my stand 3 days in a row and on the 4th day it was his unlucky day.I was waiting for a much larger buck,but I know what happens when a person gets greety.(TAG SOUP)he scored 152" I shot him at 10yrds.the trail cam pic is the buck I was hoping to get a chance at but but he never did show him self.

Now thats a buck!!!! WOW!!!

I was wondering why both deer look like they both have holes in them like they were both shot.I thought 1 was dead already.It sucks to see 2 awsome deer go like this ,it is to bad dnr couldn't come out and cut them apart,they sure would make for and awsome mount.

well I finally did it after missing 1 at 42yrds and shooting over his back this bull walked in at 24yrds and I put 1 in the boiler room he ran 10yrds and flipped on his back and it was over.this was the highlight of my bowhunting career.I have shot alot of deer and bears with my bow over 10yrs but never shot a bull moose.

well it took me 7 yrs to draw this tag and it took me 10min to fill it.we scouted for2 days before the opening day and seen 100s of antelope and this guy caught my eye the evening before the opener.so we went back to camp and slept the night by.we went back the next morning and he was in the same spot we seen him the night before.we had to sit for a few mins waiting for legal light and when it was time he was standing at 185yrds and the 270wthrby let loose and my first antelope was laying on the ground.next year I will been getting my archery tag for these guys.

Mirage I have no idea how to answer your ? A 5x5 to me would be called a 5pt and a 4x4 would be known as a 4pt I guess I would go by the main frame of the deer and that gives us and idea what we are seeing or shooting.The only way I would say diffrent would be If a Buck had a diffrent main frame like a 7x5 or a 6x4.we usaully don't count the stickers or kicker points,until it comes time to officially score it.around here there is about 1% of people who get there deer offialy scored.I my self have never got a deer offially scored.I score them my self and take that as my score

Outsider Moose has got to be one of the best tasteing animals to walk.compared to wtail there is no comparison.Moose over wtail anyday.Wtail I make into saugage & jerky and moose I use as table food steaks, roasts,burger.

this little guy decided to make are archery opener worth it.he walked out at 35yrds and didn,t make it to far.he's going to be a good eating bull

Ive guided alot of bear hunters over the years and if you are planning to hunt over bait any calibre will work,but if you are going to spot and stalk take somthing big enough to knock the front shoulders out.(3o-o6& up)a bear with out front shoulders is not getting away.
