Finally harvested a N.Y bird after 18 days of hard hunting, i shot him yesterday the 21st. I saw this bird out in the field strutting around 8:00 he saw me and walked off with his harem of hens. Knowing where they were headed i circled around ahead of them, only i was late. Walking down the logging road exactly where i was going to set up, eek there he was strutting! Thankfully he was turned the other way and so I kneeled down waiting for him to turn and when he did i tagged him. A little farther than i would of liked but i was pinned and couldn't call to him at 50ys i thought is was about 45. But the 3'' #5 winchester's did there job, 9inch beard and a small 3/4 spurs approx 20lbs. LOVE THIS REALTREE CAMO! This stuff just works. Called 4 gobblers in on the spring hunt with two hens within about 7yds never saw us.
