  1. looking for a fully rifled barrel for the 9200 thanks
  2. I have a pair of 1000 gram field and stream boots and they are nice and cozy. Comfortable and plenty of grip walking through mud and such. I also have a field and stream camo bomber jacket thats waterproof sold at dicks. Let me tell you it is one of the most cozy, quiet, plush and light jackets I have used(whats more is it came with a one year free subscription). I would recommend it if you hunt in cold damp conditions. Last year last day it was freezing rain and mixed with rain around 35. That jacket kept me warm and dry. I cant find any other manufacturer on the tag but i doubt the magazine produces it. Quality seems to be first rate.
  3. thanks. If i was to hunt anything bigger that whitetails i would use that tsx bullet, it looks awesome. May try it next year as well as the varget. However regular season opens in a week and i don't have the time nor the desire to play around finding another load, when i have one that shoots pretty darn good. To late in the game at this point. Ill let you know how it does. thanks trevor

what are you shooting?(caliber) The standard is 1'' high at 100 most rifles that are worth anything shoot flat from 10 yards to that range, but to be sure let us know what you are armed with.
  5. This is for all you reloader's out there I am shooting a 7mm-08 for the first time and I am hand loading it. I am shooting 150 gr ballistic silvertips. I finally found a load that grouped well with my rifle but i am only shooting (Please do not list specific loads) of vihtovouri n150 powder. My concern is that this is a slow burning powder and I am just not sure it will have enough umphh for whitetails my shots will NEVER be over two hundred and likely 100 and probably most 75- 50 yds. The season is two weeks away and i have already loaded my hunting rounds. Is it going to give me enough energy with this particular load? I am guessing its leaving the barrel at 2400 fps. I taped some old glossy catalogs together 4.5 inches thick with a complete pass through at 100yds with good expansion. This is a quick expanding bullet that fragments easy as you may know so i don't think expansion will be the trouble. I am mildy concerned over the penetration though. Thoughts? thanks trevor

  9. Finally harvested a N.Y bird after 18 days of hard hunting, i shot him yesterday the 21st. I saw this bird out in the field strutting around 8:00 he saw me and walked off with his harem of hens. Knowing where they were headed i circled around ahead of them, only i was late. Walking down the logging road exactly where i was going to set up, eek there he was strutting! Thankfully he was turned the other way and so I kneeled down waiting for him to turn and when he did i tagged him. A little farther than i would of liked but i was pinned and couldn't call to him at 50ys i thought is was about 45. But the 3'' #5 winchester's did there job, 9inch beard and a small 3/4 spurs approx 20lbs. LOVE THIS REALTREE CAMO! This stuff just works. Called 4 gobblers in on the spring hunt with two hens within about 7yds never saw us. Trevor
