Hey Bud - Happy Birthday!
-
I know this is not specifically hunting related but I am sure there are those among us who have or know someone who has suffered severe burns, not to mention those in the Military. It is a short 4 minute video but well worth the watch. I pray that they get this approved and into mass productiona and use ASAP!

I've said it before - even with all the technological advances we have to our advantage we still cannot seem to come close to the true old world craftsmanship. A repeating air rifle capable of putting a ball through a 1 inch thick board at 100 yards and capable of 40 shots before having to refill the air chamber. No wonder they didn't have any trouble with the Indians. No sound and no smoke to give away their position when the shot was fired! I can see how the Indians would have feared that weapon as a gift from the "Gods".

Long meeting with the family doctor yesterday afternoon and then out for a belated Valentine's dinner. Doctor wants Margaret to not take her blood pressure meds for one week and monitor her pressure each morning and evening and see if there is any significant change, back to see him at the end of that week and decisions will be made as to her medication at that time. Of course if there is a problem during the week she is to get right back on her meds. He noted in her file that she is never to be given that particular antibiotic again due to the reaction with the blood pressure meds. He reviewed with us all of the tests that were run at the hospital, EKG's (2 of them), blood work-ups and urine analysis and other than the dehydration and drug interaction everything was normal. A HUGE THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR THE PRAYERS.

As always - fantastic shots Dave. I can't thank you enough for sharing.

Welcome to the campfire, pull up a stump and set a spell. Can't really add to the name suggestions, I am more a visual person.

Glad Cash is feeling better, but I would have been hard pressed to control myself at the total lack of professionalism on that Idiot's part. I am proud of you Kyle, don't know I dould have walked away like you did. But there needs to be some accountability somehow along the way, of course I do have a few phone numbers if you need them;)

Green Mountain Roasters - Kona Gold Extra Bold, Sumatran Reserve Extra Bold and Dark Magic Extra Bold, but I also have a very close friend/client who owns the largest Coffee plantation in Costa Rica who sends me 4 pounds of his Sun Burst Cafe espresso grind each month to use in my Keurig with the "My K-cup" accessory.

Friday about 6:00 pm, I came in from the shop to find my wife in the bathroom very incoherent and eyes so dilated all you could see were her pupils. She could not answer even the simplest of questions, daughter's names, grandchildren's names, etc. I called 911 and got an ambulance to the house by the time I got off of the phone with 911 it was as if nothing had happened at all. First responders arrived on scene and asked her questions - social security number, date, president's name, etc. no problems. Took her to hospital anyway and she had another spell within 10 minutes of arriving in the emergency room, as the spell was taking place they took er blood pressure and it was 55/13, immediately started her on IV fluids with potassium. She had a total of 5 more spells Friday night into Saturday morning with each one getting less and less in endurance and no disorientation. Long story short it appears that her blood pressure medication had a bad interaction with an antibiotic she was on for bronchitis and she became very dehydrated. Although there were no outward signs of any dehydration, no fever, normal bodily functions, normal appetite, etc. She worked Friday and said until she went to the bathroom she felt fine but while sitting there she became very dizzy and disoriented. We are now home from the hospital and she will meet with our family doctor tomorrow at 4:00 pm. My wife is fanatical about maintaining a check on her blood pressure, she even keeps a daily log. She checks her pressure each morning before she takes her medication, this morning it was 106/72, she averages 114/74 each morning before taking her medication. My question for her doctor tomorrow is, if these are her readings before she takes the medication then why should she be taking the medication in the first place? There is a history of hypertension in her family and I think at one time her pressure was 140/87 for a few weeks back when our oldest daughter and we were dealing with all of the medical issues with our grandson and that is when she was put on the blood pressure medication. Ruth, I would really welcome your input on this. Any way, I just really wanted to say Thank You for allowing me a place to vent, to say I was scared witless at the time would be a complete understatement.

MRI Scheduled for the 22nd, based on x-rays looks like I may have to go back under the knife for some ray cages and fusions. MRI will give a better view of how extensive things need to get. Wish I didn't have to wait another 2 weeks for the MRI and then I don't get in to see the doc and go over the results until the 7th of March. So, another month until I know anything definitive. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

I have an appointment with a neurosurgeon tomorrow morning to schedule an MRI and whatever else he thinks needs doing. Been having some spinal pain radiating out to both of my shoulders for several weeks now. Family doc took some x-rays and thinks it may be related to an old injury from back in '95 (essentially broke my neck and had to have surgery on the C5-C6 vertebraes) which is why I use a crossbow because the resulting muscle damage from the injury and surgery won't allow me to draw a conventional bow. Anyway, I am of course hoping that there will be some answer other than more surgery. Your thoughts and prayers would really mean a lot to me.

I have a chance to upgrade my desktop to one with considerable more ram and better motherboard and graphics card, sound card , etc. With a virgin install of Windows 7 Home Premium. My question is, how do I get all my data from my old Vista system over to the new one? Please dumb it down as I am not a techie at all, if I can't heat it and beat it, then I am lost.

Congratulations Joe - now if I could just figure a way to get my grubby hands on a bottle of your award winning wine and a bowl of your award winning chili that would be a Super Bowl feast for sure.

Geesh - I should be so lucky. Pre-WWII - the best of the best for the working man coming out of Solingen, Germany. How is the blade, any pitting or much surface rust? How is the action, still have good snap to it or is it gummy? Any cracks in the Delrin handles? What pot of gold did you find this in?

Stabilized African Blackwood (Poor man's Ebony). The trout is a tie tack that I drilled and tapped and then screwed on from the back side of the handle.

If it has an edge I have made it at one time or another down to and including Damascus spurs for fighting roosters.

Okay, after spending a good bit of time with my Playdough (Yes, I said Playdough). I have decided to go with a twist pattern but I am going to modify it with a wolf tooth along both top and bottom cutting edges. Playdough by the way works really well for seeing how patterns will play out, by using 2 different colors and alternating layers I can see how the layers play out when manipulated because the colors don't blend into each other but maintain their own space. If, and that is a HUGE if everything goes as it looks in playdough and on paper, this should be one very unique Lady. As soon as I have everything in place and get through some medical issues in the coming weeks I will start a blog on here with day to day progress and pics every step of the way.
