Vet says he believes he is half Springer Spaniel and half Catahoula. 9 months and 58 lbs. still a lot of puppy left in him but I don't know as I have ever seen a pup this well behaved. Came to the shelter as a stray at 8 weeks old. Will not get up on the furniture even when invited to. Very gentle with the grandkids.

Sitting last night watching some basketball with Bowie lying at my feet, all of a sudden he perks up and starts growling. First time he has done this since we brought him home. He made a beeline for the back door and was going nuts. Opened up the back door and let him out and he shot straight as an arrow to my forge area at the back of the lot. Ran after him to find two punks trying to make off with my 300 lb anvil and base. One of them managed to get over the fence but Bowie had the other one on the ground and was standing on his chest, he never made any attempt to bite the kid but the kid wasn't going anywhere. Made the call to 911 and 5 minutes later the local boys in blue showed up and took him away, kid dimed on his "friend" even before they got him in the car.

Norwegian Cruise Lines for 2 weeks a week up to Seward and a week back to Vancouver. I would go back tomorrow if I could afford another 6 weeks out of the shop. Took over 5,000 photographs throughout the whole trip. Gotta love digital.

Anyone here who's been on pro-staff of some sort?

My Browning 425 in 12 gauge will always be my go to for hunting Pheasant and Dove but when I was shooting for CZ-USA always had to use one of theirs for sponsored shooting events, I do have one of theirs in 28 gauge that is my go to for Quail. I was sponsored by Horton Crossbows back when they were still a quality product and still hunt with a Horton 175 and have a Horton Hunter Express 175 as backup. -
It was funny when we put my grandson Jonathon down on the floor - Bowie looked at me like he was asking for permission, when I said it was okay he laid right down next to Jonathon and proceeded to let Jonathon pull and pet on him. Never growled or moved away or acted aggressive in any way.

I know I said in my other post that I was looking for an English Setter pup but I made my weekly troll through the local animal shelters today and this fellow struck a chord deep within me. Hopefully he will be coming home with me on Saturday. The shelter has been calling him Scratch but as he is just barely a year old I think we can work on changing that so - any suggestions? He is a mutt, looks like he has some Lab in him and maybe some boxer because his coat is mostly brindle.

I'm back after a 2 year vacation.

Don't care about papers but most rescue sites that I have checked charge about $300.00 adoption fee, I figure for that price I should be able to find a pup somewhere close by.

Took six weeks off last fall and drove to Vancouver then got on a ship bound for Alaska. Here are a few of the pictures along the way. Even managed to get in a glass blowing class while there.

Two fines?! That's all?! That guy should have his license yanked.

Looking for an English Setter, for a pet not for hunting as I only get to hunt birds twice a year. I am in South Carolina so if anyone knows of anyone near me I would appreciate a heads up. Many Thanks in advance.

Officially called "Return of a Monarch". Here are some photos of the Henry Rifle and the Bowie available in the package. For those who haven't seen my other post here is some info on the project. I have been commissioned by the Hunting Heritage Trust to participate in a rather large and limited project. Seems 2016 was the 100 year anniversary of the beginning of the effort to return the American Bison from the brink of extinction. So, in honor of that endeavor and it's continued success the Hunting Heritage Trust in cooperation with Henry Rifles and Ross Tyser Custom Knives are offering a limited number of special Henry Rifles in 45/70 caliber and a Ross Tyser Bowie coupled with an original print of "Dusty Plains Bison" and an original print of "On The Brink". All 4 pieces in each set to be serial numbered the same. The sets are limited to only 1091 sets total, the 1091 number is significant in that when the census was taken of the total number of American Bison in existence 100 years it was only 1091 total. The receivers of each rifle are being hand engraved by Barron's of London on each side with part of the artwork from each of the featured prints. The blade of the Bowie is laser engraved with the artwork from the "On The Brink". Yes, I am personally hand forging and making and engraving each of the 1091 Bowies for the project. The Bowie is 14 inches overall length with a 8.5 inch blade.

I will be glad to post picks of the rifle and the Bowie when I get to my other computer. Also, if anyone is interested I have been authorized by the Trust to offer special pricing to friends and family who wish to purchase the whole set. $2,200.00 for the whole set - the Henry rifle, Bowie, and both pieces of artwork all serial numbered the same.
