1. A freind and I are acomplished whitetail bow hunters from Ohio. We have been on several guided hunts in Canada and in US. Fall of 2011 we are hoping to go on a DIY Nebraska mule deer rifle hunt. We are not looking for large trophys just an average size buck. Nebraska becasue it has OTC tags. However we would like to have a few landowner contacts to hunt on before we go. We are willing to pay tresspass fees if they are reasonable. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
2. HollywoodI had 120 trail cam pics of this buck. On October 2nd I was able to put an arrow through him. I didn't find him till the next day, one sleepless night but no fear double lunged him.
3. Nice buck but one question are your feet cold!!!!! lol
4. We've all been there I cant tell you haw many times I've been in a treestand freezing my a$$ off, not seeing any deer and wonder why I took up this sport. As I climb down and walk back half frozen to the truck thinking I should have taken up a more civil sport like golf or chess club, I say...tomorrow, I'm hunting the other stand...........:hammer1:
5. Well I just got back from hunting with Huntmasters in Illinois. It was 4 days of driving rain and high winds. I eventually settled for this buck. Of course right after I shot him I finally saw a true monster. But considering the weather this one will do. I had a great time with great guides and lodging. Not much bigger than my Ohio buck but he will look great on the wall and a fantastic time.
6. You are right with watching them walk. I have let many 120 and 130 bucks walk the last 2 years waiting on the 160+. I always end up shooting one smaller than I let pass at end of season. with 140 inch deer the biggest ive taken I long for that 160+. In Ohio we are only allowed one buck a season. A very wise man once told me "It's hard to kill a 160 inch deer when you have a 130 incher on the ground". Trust me when I say I'm happy with this deer. it was just the second day of season and you always wonder "what if I had waited". :hammer1:
7. This is what I had hoped for. I got several pics of him but all at night...Oh well. My son is salivating at the mouth right now cause he can hunt the dad only stands now..hopefully he will get him!!
8. Yea maybe with all you fame and fortune, you may need an executive protection speacialist...you know to keep you safe while in the wilds...of course I may have to eliminate any dangers that may come your way...such as Moose...maybe a 6X6 elk or a 200 inch whitetail..I would gladly put myself in harms way for you and nutralize those threats to keep you safe...
9. If you look at the G4 on the left side its the same and the broken brow on the left Im pretty sure it's the same deer. From behind it does look differant.
10. Well I got a little antsy and shot a buck that I thought was bigger. Dont get me wrong later in the season I would have been happy with him. Just sad to see the season end after second day. Especially since I had been seeing much bigger deer. I didn't have much time to size him up before making the decision. I did have several cam pics of him including one in velvet. I included one of his pics right after he shed his velvet. He "might" make 120 inches gross since he is a 10 point? I haven't scored him yet.
11. Big Boy lost his velvet. Got a picture at the same camera I did a month ago when he laid down in front of it in velvet. So far still at night but this was earlier in the night it was 8:49pm. Hoping he will show his face in the daylight. Trouble is I have several pictures of 130 class bucks coming pretty regular in the daylight. I'm afraid I will be tempted by them. I will just keep this picture in my pocket to look at when I'm tempted...lol
12. Not scared of the dark or anything in it. Spent to much time in the Marine Corp in god forsaken places as well as many nights in law enforcement to even have it come across my mind. I've moose hunted with bow in Alberta on my own and been in many wilderness settings with no communications. What worries me more than anything while walking in the dark is spooking game. I am on edge all the time that I'm gonna bump deer and a snort fest kick off...

Big Boy

Ohio has some great bucks, Hole in the horn, Beatty buck, Stan Potts killed a 198 incher here, plus many more. I guess it just depends where you hunt.

Oh I will find plenty of time to hunt him since he is practicvally in my back yard. I guessed him closer to 170 since he is a 10 point with very uniform tines but, hard to tell from pictures.
15. My very first bow was when I was 14, It was called a bear 76er (that ought to tell you how old I am. It was all white. I stretched brown socks over the limbs and hunted with it. Killed my first deer with it (mostly by accident). Hunted with various recurves from there. My first compound bow was an Indian I had for one year and traded it for a Browning Explorere II, thought I was the S*** then, lol. Still have a few of them. Hunt with a DXT now with a SQ2 autographed by Tom Miranda and Stan Potts as my back-up
