The guy that's doing mine is charging right at $500 here in Northeast Indiana. I've seen his work and it's pretty good. I can justify the cost by thinking that this mount is going to last the rest of my life and remind me of the hunt.

I've been seeing a lot of deer but they all appear to be does...at least from a distance. I didn't really have time to grab the binoculars while driving. I'll keep checking back to see what others are saying and add my two cents worth.

Those are some hawgs for sure! I've tried several times but I always end up getting tired of being skunked and revert back to bass fishing haha. Hopefully this spring I'll be able to finally find my first one. I know there are lakes around me that have them but I don't know anyone to let me in on the hot spots.

I had a text message with that picture sent to my phone from a buddy saying it was shot just south of Indianapolis, IN. No idea what the real story is.

Great looking buck! That should make for some good conversation as he's hanging on your wall!

When I took him to the taxidermist he guessed around 140. I'm having him scored but have to wait for the drying time. I'll be sure to post again

Always nice to see big Indiana bucks! Congrats to the both of you!

I shot this guy on public land in Northeast Indiana this morning. He's got 11 scorable points and I wondered if anyone could give a rough estimate on what he may score.
-
I may be in depending on my work schedule. That'd be pretty cool.

I just got back from hunting Northeast Arkansas and was able to take a 7 pointer that had broken off his G2 or he would have been an 8. This is my first time posting a picture so hopefully it works.

Scrape I hunt Steuben county as well and stuck going to Mongo and Marsh. I've been seeing some small bucks but it's tough to find the big boys in those areas. I'm seeing about the same thing you are. They are searching for early does but they're not after them too hard just yet.

Nice buck! Just goes to show that we can and do grow some big bucks here in the Hoosier state! I'm still waiting on mine. It's been a slow year for me so far. Very few bucks and none worth thinking about shooting. I'm on vacation all this week so I'm going to hunt hard and hopefully big daddy will stroll on by.

I went out this evening hoping the rain would let up enough to move the deer but no such luck. Also, come to find out, my so called waterproof camo isn't all it's cracked up to be. I got soaked and didn't see a thing!

I got a chance to prefish the lake this morning and we caught 4 keepers in 3 hours on spinnerbaits, tubes, and buzzbaits in shallow lily pads. They weren't enormous but they were keepers all the same. I'll have to look at a map to find some of those humps and drops a little better. My partner and I are both better shallow water anglers but if it gets tough or we need an extra kicker fish it sounds like we should go a bit deeper.

Beautiful buck! Congratulations!

I'm thinking of fishing in a local tournament here in NE Indiana this weekend and wanted to know if anyone had some advice on how to find fish in tough conditions. The last week has been 70 degrees plus and the water is in the mid 60's. The remainder of the week is going to be low 60's for the high. The lake is fairly shallow with lots of weedbeds and some rocky shores. Any suggestions on how to find the big ones?

I'm helping a buddy hang a few stands Thursday morning. I know it's a bit late but it's better than nothing. Any good ideas on where to place them for early season success. There are a lot of tree lines and fields and I'm thinking that a good spot would be in the corner of where a couple fields and tree lines all come together. Any other suggestions??

I was scouting a new area a couple of days ago and found a fresh scrape already and plenty of rubs. Any ideas as to if the rut will come early or if this is something territorial?

I know this is about using mechanicals through the mesh but has anyone tried using fixed blades through it? I got a blind for Christmas last year but have yet to try to shoot through it.

I try to keep a buzzbait tied on one rod at all times. They're weedless for the most part. I also have a weightless YUM Dinger on a rod, watermelon with gold flakes work well around weedbeds. Let it sit, twitch it a few times, or twitch it all the way in to make it "swim". Another favorite is a white chatterbait used like a spinnerbait. And like the other posts have said, early morning or late evening are the best times.

I'm in NE Indiana and the most recent buck I've seen was a small fork horn that had shed his velvet already. I'm not sure if the larger ones have done the same or not.

I live in NE Indiana and have seen quite a few deer this summer including some nice bucks. I found a few rubs earlier this week but nothing huge. It seems like most of the deer movement I've seen has been in the evenings or at night. I'm not sure as to why though.
