  1. OK, been hunting for 4 years now. This is the latest I've been in the season. I had great action early bow and since mid november, haven't seen the first deer. We had a bunch of late season corn, but its down now. I sit around a few 15 to 20 acre spotty woods, are they hangen here? When is the best time for late season? Thanks!!
  2. I say take it to a proshop. You will be suprised at how cheap it will cost ya. I've never used any of the wraps, they look pretty cool. I fletch my own, I use a Blitzenburger fletching jig, a zip strip de-fletching tool, goat tuff glue, and of coarse what ever fletching you decide to go with. If your going to start off right with the good stuff, expect a 150-200 dollar start up.

  10. Hey guys, I finally got to smoke my first deer with my 2 year old Mathews Switchback XT yesterday evening. I wasn't even going to go out yesterday but I thought what the heck. The corn was still standing, I hadn't seen a buck all year and no pics on the trail camera, and it was suppose to rain. It was about 6:00 pm and I had been setting in the misting rain for about an hour and I was ready to give it up for the day. I put my Easton ST Axis tipped with a Muzzy 100gr. 4 blade broadhead back in the quiver and clipped my lowering string onto the bow. As soon as I was about to lower my bow, I looked to the left and saw 2 8 pointers coming aroound the corn, they was 26 yards out. My first thought was way to go, you blew this one dummy. I brought the back, grabbed my arrow, clipped on my release, and then picked out which one I wanted. The one leading was smaller body and rack. As soon as I raised my bow, it was like he knew it was show time. He turned broadside and I let it rip. Clean shot all the way. He went 30 yards and lights out. I now know what the excitement and feeling is all about when you take one with your bow. Good luck and I'll get some pics up soon.
  11. As I was sitting in the stand the other evening overlooking the standing corn, I was wondering, what do deer prefer, corn or beans? Or do you think the rather eat on nuts? I was just wondering since I'm going to buy and leave stand a 1/4 acre of the corn. Will it draw in deer?
  12. Make sure you shot each bow you have intrest in. I shot two Hoyts, Mathews drenalin, and the switchback xt. Even though the drenalin was the new toy on the block, I liked the way the switchback shot and felt in my hand. The good part was the small bow dealer I went to had all these bows so I could compare them all at the same time. Once I picked out the switchback xt, it was time for the goodies!!!
  13. Rocks I had someone tell me to put softball size rocks out in the field. I wish I would have known that before I took that first shot. I was sure it was 30 yards, in reality, it was 20. I now own a rangefinder.
  14. Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone has ever made a mock scrape with any kind of reaction? Wether it was good or bad, tell me about it. Cory
