I've heard nothing but great things about Winner's Choice

For those of you that like fixed blade heads you should check out Ramcat broadheads. I have tried several over the years including Montecs, HellRazors and Slick Tricks but the Ramcats impressed me the most. I got a pass through with them last year on a doe that I shot at 48 yards with my 50lb Hoyt and she ran 30 yards and ate dirt. Also, if you don't get a pass through they will cut their way back out of the animal creating more damage. Not saying what you use currently is bad, just thought I'd tell you about it incase you want to check them out. I just like trying new heads every year. This year I am getting a new bow and might try some NAP Spitfires. I've never shot mechanical heads before so I kind of want to try them out.

Well guys it's just that time of year here in GA... The deer activity has come to a screeching stop. The rut is passed and I never got to pull the trigger on a buck to my standards. I saw a ton of bucks though! And I'll still be in the woods a lot on case big daddy decides to slip up again but normally the daylight deer activity gets less less as the year progresses around this time every year. There is still hope though! Good luck to everyone else that's still trying as well!

Yep! Everyone looks to be having great seasons!

The bucks have been chasing hard here in GA recently. I have seen a million small 6pts, 4pt, and spikes, and several decent, but still young 8pts that just aren't quite big enough for me to pull the trigger on. I am waiting for a big boy to slip up and chase a doe out in front of me! Congrats to everyones recent success!

I never really played Black Ops a whole lot. Didn't like it as much as the other ones for some reason. But the new Modern Warfare 3 is insane. I like it a lot.

Just wondering if anyone on here plays games online like call of duty. Don't get me wrong, I live and breath whitetail hunting and bass fishing, but when you are bored at home with nothing to do, games like Call of Duty are awesome. I play on PS3 and was wondering if anyone else does and if so maybe we could play together.

I can't stand it. I hate that it gets dark an hour earlier. I don't really mind it getting daylight earlier, but I hate hunting in the evenings when it is dark by 6!

Recommend a good bolt action .22 for a youth?
aujack replied to Swamphunter's topic in Rifles & Accessories
I went from a single-shot bolt action .22 chipmunk, to a single-shot break action NEF .243. I was 8 when I killed my first deer with the 243 though. The bolt action 243 should work just fine for him. -
I ended up buying a box of hornady superformance sst 150gr just to try them out. We will see how it goes and if I don't like them, then I will change --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=32.241089,-84.548590

I have heard that Hornady SSTs shoot groups under 1" at 100yds out of the Tikka. Are they a good choice for hunting? --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=32.554875,-84.871856

I ordered a Tikka T3 Lite in 308win a couple days ago because I have heard nothing but good things about the T3's, and I already own a 270 and wanted to get a different caliber with the new rifle I had been planning to get for a while now. This 308 will become my all-around hunting gun and the 270 will be getting a face-lift for mainly long range shooting. I have never owned a 308 but chose that caliber because several people recommended it to me, and also because of it's ammo availability. I have no idea what ammo is good or bad for this caliber. It will be used mainly for hunting whitetails. I don't want to spend $50 a box, but I also don't want to spend $10 on a box and get poor accuracy and bad results. I have heard that 150gr is the best route to take because the heavier grains like 165gr and up do not expand nearly as well. Where I hunt 95% of the shots I'll be taking will be around 100yds or less, with the exception of a couple spots like powerlines and big fields, which is what I would use my .270 for anyways. So what do you guys think will be the best fitting ammo for my .308? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Let me know what you think! Thanks! -aujack

I definitely want to shoot the Vector Turbo. If I like the feel and get convinced that the shorter BH/speed doesn't sacrifice accuracy then it will be mine for sure. I will almost definitely get something in the vector lineup. Neither of the carbon bows really jump at me and make me want to spend the extra money. Or at least their specs don't. I haven't shot them yet though.

It's on ebay now. As well as a million other places. I have decided not to gr through with this idea just incase it did cause problems because I don't want that at all. Thanks for the input though!

I am in the process of selling my bow and actually came up with a very good idea for selling it, I just don't know if it is legal or not. Here is my idea: I first check to see how many people are interested, and if I can get enough people interested, I would make a deadline, and have anyone that wants to participate write me a letter and include $10 in their letter explaining why they would be the best choice to receive my bow. Then at the deadline I pick the best letter and ship my bow to the winner, that way I have money to put towards a new bow, and the winner gets a new bow that they essentially paid $10 for. This may very well be illegal, which is why I am asking this. Please let me know if this is legal or not! Thanks!!

Yep, thats how they are down here too.
