Grey Hair Bow Hunter

Just wanted to start a topic not a debate, I have been down to many trails to ever be in judgment or attack anyone. This is part of my testimony. Two very important people in my life, my Father & my Pastor gave me the same bit of wisdom, at different times in my life. “Put the same passion that you give into hunting & fishing into your family also.” But, I chased many passions, business success & causes, I fell, totally failed and lost my family. That led me in to a life style of addiction then into criminal behavior. The Lord reaching out in love to my confession of sin & rebellion. He forgave me and set me on a path of recovery & restoration. For ten years, I never went hunting, could not because of probation. Then started bow hunting, I enjoy it, but it is not a passion, obsession or addiction. I have been able to share archery with my wife & grandchildren as a family.

Our desire to hunt or fish can it become lust, idol worship or a strong hold of addiction. How have you struggled with this?
