This is a pic of the 5.5yr old+ 8pt my son culled this weekend. His right side is a bit off in that after the G2, the beam just extends outward about 8-10 inches with a small crab-claw at the end. Had this deer been symetrical, he'd be rather nice. We'd observed this deer earlier in the season and we all decided this would be a good cull, so we set our sights on him. He showed up right at dark on Thursday and my son dropped him at about 70 yards. It makes it that much better when you harvest the deer you are actually going after. The deer were rutting pretty hard in our area this weekend, so we all got a chance to see some nice bucks chasing. We had one deer that would have been a 20+ inch wide 10pt, but his left side was broken off just past the brow tine. He looked to be about 3.5yrs old so he'll be one we're looking out for 2 years from now. He should be very nice by then.
Hope everyone else had a great Thanksgiving and a successful weekend's hunt.
