Thanks for the invite never know might be something to try. Ive always wanted to moose hunt thats been a dream of mine since I started hunting. Im thankfull for the kind of words fellow hunters are the ones that stick together and if anyone is close to me I have several private places to hunt that id be welcome for someone to tag along.
  2. Been gone from the site for a long time. Had alot of stuff go on in the family lost my grandparents this year. Then my mom got a divorce from my handicapped father. havent seen you in about a year or more. Then my girlfriend of 5 years ends up doing somethings I find out about and we part ways. So its down to me and my dad I moved him in with me. So enough of the ranting. Im looking for maybe a hunting partner around indiana or withing 4 to 5 hours driving distance. Really wanting to get back into the old me. Im 25 been a whitetial freak my whole life. My taxidermist has me pumped about turkeys said I might get to tag along for a hunt this year buying a turkey gun this month to get ready. But anyway Im handicapped from a car wreck get around okay and can do most anything. wouldnt mind helping out on the property paying or anything of that nature. So if you might be interested drop me a pm. Sorry for the long post had to vent a little.
  3. Well took the plunge and ordered it. In my mind I was fighting with spending all my money I saved back for hunting stuff on it but why sit in the tree all day to blow the shot because of my hand
  4. As far as bows a few of my buddies have them and love them. I lucked out and got my hoyt brand new for less than a parker but anyway. Bows good but there crossbows are junk 4 of my dads friends have nothing but problems
  5. Well it apears the bass pro I was going to is sold out of the cross bow im looking at so I guess ordering it online tonight
  6. well as stated the 520 bucks is a package ready to go. Thats why im leaning toward the horton. Just wondering if there is any bad things about them
  7. I have had my permit for 3 years now but still managed with my bow (dont wanna give it up). I was target shooting last week on my 3rd shot something in my hand tore. So Im looking into picking a a decent crossbow around 520 bucks out the door. Basspro has the horton realtree hd 175 with the 4 by 32 scope for 499 im thinking of picking it up but wasnt shure what people had to say about them. Thanks

  9. Yes it was all on private land Ive had leased and hunted since I was 16 they are family friends but we still pay to have full rights to it all. Yes I did take a big hit. Im thinking it was a coon hunter because at the place one of my cams where they shot a possum and hung it by the camara chain. Been watching ebay for camaras to buy but never see a deal
  10. Luckly you guys and gals have gear to put up. Went out 3 days after season ended to grab my camaras ground blind and check stands. All 4 camaras stolen ground blind gone and 2 person ladder stand no where to be found. They where nice enough to leave my cut locks. So im trying to find deals on game cams all around here are sold out. first time in 16 years we have had anything stolen
  11. hello all im from central indiana the rutting activity has been done at night from all my videos and trail cam pics. Ive gotten over 30 different buck pictures. My dad took a decent 7 pointer ( hes totally handicapped so big deer for him. My girlfriend smoked her first buck this year with a bow a 145 ish ten point. Ive gotten a couple monsters on the trail cam. Ive been holding out hoping to get a crack at one of them. Im handicapped as well and have hunted every evening during bow, firarms and muzzleloader. The rut seemed like it is not there no deer movement till 2 to 3 am
  12. my taxidermist does it for me and the family we started a tradition on every deer we take we keep the lower jaw for age verification and to keep also all four legs to hang guns or bows. Im getting ready to start a project on building a gun cabnit. Going to be all cedar 8 feet long 8 feet tall. Bows and guns but in the very back is where the feet will come into play holding my grandfathers and great grand fathers guns in the back ground.
