  1. Thx Guyz....I figured those loads were good based on what I read and heard...your input is appreciated Al
  2. I have used a Rem M742 semi in .30-06 for 40 years...the last 10 I have used Remington Premier A Frame in 180 grain and have had excellent results. I have just purchased a Browning semi in 7mm Rem Mag and bought the Rem A Frame in 160 grain (all that Rem offers)....I have also bought Hornady Custom 7mm Rem Mag 154 Interbond....I hunt moose & deer....I know that both the above shells are AOK for deer, but has anyone out there tried these loads for moose and can report your findings... Thank you Al
  3. Ice Fishing Heading north on Sat with my 25 year old son for my one & only ice fishing trip for lake trout this season in Central Ontario..High minus 12 C, no hut..I will post my photo(s)hopefully I will have some to post...hurry on spring...I am anxious to get out there calling The Boss Gobbler already:)...winter is too loooooong !
  4. Nice hearing from you hyperflow I have been reading about the poorest results in 50 years on Nipissing in Ont Out of Doors forum.....I hunt deer at our camp north of Huntsville & moose in northwest Ont. near Kenora....Al
  5. Hello There Cool winter in Whitby Ontario this year but all the snow in Dec & Jan seems to have resulted in almost none in Feb...been doing a little ice fishing for walleyes on Bay of Quinte off Lake Ontario...bite has been slow for everyone there this year....managed a forkhorn this fall deer season:)....bought a new used Browning semi in 7MM for deer & moose & topped it off with a VX 1 Leupold scope 2-7X...my Remington Jam-o-matic was given to my 25 year old son after used successfully for 40 years by me. Nice to hear from fellow Canadians...Al
  6. Wolf tattooMy 2nd ( & last) tattoo....Al
  7. I have read/heard somewhere that Swift A Frame and Nosler Partition are compable....is this so ? I ask because I just bought a used BAR in 7MM Rem.Mag. & have used Remington Premier A Frame 180 grain for both moose & deer with great results. I am looking at the Remington A Frame in 160 grain factory load (that is all that is available) to use for both moose & deer....what do you think ? I am getting tired of looking at all the comparisons and would like to know that the A Frame is "good as it gets " for me ... My shots can range usually less than 100 yards but occassionally up to 350....my .30-06 was a killing machine at those distances but the continuous jamming of the infamous Remington Jam-o-matic has finally got to me after 40 years and my son now says that he wants to inherit the "problem. He is an auto mechanic and figures that he and his buddies can fix it ?
  8. I just bought a used Browning semi-auto (BAR) in 7mm Rem. Mag. I have shot a Remington Model 742 .30-06 for the last 40 years and enjoyed that calibre greatly. For the last # of years I have been using Remington Premier A Frame 180 gr.and have had outstanding results on both deer and moose. I know that there is a Remington 160 gr. A Frame & I am leaning on trying that but am open to recommendations. Any personal experiences, comments on this firearm and what bullets & weight to use in the 7MM Rem. Mag shell for whitetails and moose would be appreciated. I will be using factory ammo. Thx Al
