He's definately a muley, I dont have any digital pics of his body. I'll see if I can figure out how to scan the photos with my printer.

They're all over in West Texas, where there is an abundance of the two species. Its odd though, as Ive never seen a Muley buck running whitetail does, Only Whitetail bucks running muley does.

  5. Last year I shot a roughly 250lb feral hog with my 7mm mag. 160gr core-loct (i think), at maybe 30 yds. He dropped like a stone. I lowered my gun, then this hog started squealing like crazy. It was loud! I went to rack another round in the gun, but by the time I pulled it back up, all I saw was him running into the thick brush. Never found him, or a single drop of blood. Been scratching my head on that one ever since.

I found a guy on CL selling a nice mule deer mount. I ruined the hide on my best buck. (Bullet exited in the neck, big hole). The mount is very close to my deers size, body wise, and coloring. My question is, can a taxidermist put my antlers on the mount? And is this usually expensive? Any input would be great, as I'd really like to display my best and most memorable trophy. He's an 8pt. with a 22" outside spread. Not a monster, but I believe he's a whitetail cross. I'll try to snap a pic this weekend.
  7. Too bad its not a lefty, curse this left handed-ness and looking for a bow.
  8. I had the same thing happen to me with a warthog in South Africa.
  9. I got the same gun, got any info on the rebate, as I got mine before the 31st. PM me if you dont mind. Thanks.
  10. New to MLing, and picked up a pack of these at Walmart on Clearance. Would these be to much for deer? Since im new and have a new ML, I bought a variety to see what works best with my TC Omega. I have the Hornady FBP 350s, Hornady SST-ML 250s, Shockwave 200s, and Shockwave 250s. Any insight as to what powder load with what bullet will likely be my best performer? I also bought some 777 ellets, and 777 loose powder, but Im thinking of trying the American Pioneer powder. Any insight on that would be great as well. The DVD that came with my gun suggests 120 grains with the 250 Shockwave as a good place to start.
  11. Probably look different due to whatever they use to get it to stick together. I agree if it was a different color it would be helpful. I figure i'll use the speed shot tubes, and load them before I head out, then no need to worry if I loaded it right in the dark.
  12. "Pyrodex pellets are a sophisticated rocket fuel type propellant, more related to an Estes rocket engine than black powder. They consist of a black igniter portion on one side of the base; although called an "ignition accelerant," this is nothing more than good old black powder." Got this from the link below. http://www.chuckhawks.com/difference_black_powders.htm Good bit of reading in the link. Im new to ML hunting, just got a TC, so ive been doing research out the wazoo to learn all I can before I see what works for me. Havent shot it yet, saving up for a Nikon Omega scope.
