  1. thanks... even with that advise I will probably forget.
  2. Oh yea Forgot to mention that my brother and law are pondering capturing the taking of this deer on film come bow season...veteran hunters, absolute rookie camera men. Any advise?
  3. Some more recent visitorsHere are some more bucks that have been frequenting my imperial clover plots...the first photo is a bit blury but I think it is a different deer.
  4. Sleep? It was a little tough sleeping after I saw him last year and couldnt get a shot...thats part of the reason I put in the clover patch you see him standing in. It seems that they love the smell or something right after you mow it, that tends to be when he makes an appearance. There are several monsters hanging out but this guy has been consistantly frequenting the plot. One of the neighbors found a 10 and 14 point with antler lock tangled up in a fence last year that were huge as well. When I saw this guy last year it was the one and only day I could hunt. He walked out into the clearing you see in the photo only 10 min after daylight. I was waiting for him to come across a tree to get a shot and he all of the sudden took off straight away. My brother in-law is the only other person who has seen this deer while in the stand and has a similar story. We are certain he didnt wind either of us but just some instinct has kept him alive for the past couple years. The only good thing about not taking him yet is the way he looks now, I dont know but it appears as though he has reached his peak.
  5. Ohio TargetHere is the one Im after in Ohio this year, I know he was already posted on another thread but figured he would fit here as well.
  6. Ok looked up Gary Ault and answered that question.
  7. Sorry dont know of Gary Ault. This actually is an eastern Ohio deer and they are for the most part making everything Ive been seeing at the PA farm look small. Look at the last in the series of photos, this deer has a kicker that has some junk coming off of it (Im pretty sure all three photos are the same deer given the timing) making him much better than a 12 but non-typical I would say.
  8. Hi,I am new to the forum today. Returned from Afghanistan in 08 in time for the PA rifle season. Had good luck with a buck both in PA and Ohio on two family farms. Army hunting trips to other countries have greatly reduced my hunting time here over the past nine years. Just this year got into food plots. Have used Imperial whitetail with what looks like great results as well as Tecomate Max Forage, Monster Mix, and some generic seed from the feed mill. Just clover. Imperial looks to be drawing them in OK but was curious about what others are using within a 200mi radius of Pittsburgh. Another question is about the attached photos. This is a guy I saw last year and never had a good shot on. I have 6 cameras on each property and seem to be holding some monsters. This guy has grown over the past couple weeks very nicely (see the dates) was lucky to get some good different angles on him, any ideas as to how this guy would add up score-wise or if he appears to have reached his max potential? Absolutely planning on taking him this year.
