My grandpa doesn't LET it happen. It happens. He is a good cattle dog and when deer wander in during the day, he takes off after them. Most of the time it happens when no one is home because the deer usually won't come up to the house when people are around.
My grandpa has a small red healer who has killed about 7 deer this year. He is a friendly dog but when he sees a deer he chases them down and eventually kills them. It is pretty crazy to see.

That is nothing like the gophers here. Ours are pretty small. Prairie dogs are a big bigger but not quite the size of a skunk or coon. They are a blast to shoot though.
I have a copy of the latest Turkey Country magazine which is from the NWTF. It said something like 1.6 million jobs rely on hunting and fishing. If you can get ahold of it or find it online it would be good to use. I will try to find my copy of it.

I use Valvoline High Mileage synthetic on my car and I go 4000 miles. By the time I get to 4000, I go about 5 months without changing it.
My dad takes the oil to the shop that he works at and someone comes and gets it from them
Those dump trailers are nice. One of my dads co workers has one and we used it to haul gravel for our driveway. We were putting about 3 ton of gravel on the trailer. They are pretty slick trailers.
We have a Craftsman with a 25 hp Briggs and the 54" deck. It is a pretty good mower. We have had it for about 6 years now with only one problem. Right when we got it the carb was messed up so they came out and replaced it. We have a 2 acre yard and it has held up just fine.
All of our mowers have had Briggs and no problems with any.
I was wondering what everyone here uses for a rangefinder or thoughts on what I should get.
I am starting bowhunting this fall and my distance judging isn't great. I am going to try to work on getting better at it but I would like a rangefinder just in case. I would also like to use it for rifle season.
My budget is around $300.
