  1. My grandpa doesn't LET it happen. It happens. He is a good cattle dog and when deer wander in during the day, he takes off after them. Most of the time it happens when no one is home because the deer usually won't come up to the house when people are around.
  2. My grandpa has a small red healer who has killed about 7 deer this year. He is a friendly dog but when he sees a deer he chases them down and eventually kills them. It is pretty crazy to see.
  3. Anyone ever seen or heard of a farm dog killing deer?
  4. I don't have a phone that can run apps but I have an iPod touch. I have ski ball, hunting unlimited, weather channel, texas hold'em, GL golf and a few more.

  6. 45 in SD. There is a maximum broad head size but I can't remember what it is off the top of my head.
  7. That is nothing like the gophers here. Ours are pretty small. Prairie dogs are a big bigger but not quite the size of a skunk or coon. They are a blast to shoot though.
  8. I have a copy of the latest Turkey Country magazine which is from the NWTF. It said something like 1.6 million jobs rely on hunting and fishing. If you can get ahold of it or find it online it would be good to use. I will try to find my copy of it.

  10. I use Valvoline High Mileage synthetic on my car and I go 4000 miles. By the time I get to 4000, I go about 5 months without changing it. My dad takes the oil to the shop that he works at and someone comes and gets it from them
  11. Those dump trailers are nice. One of my dads co workers has one and we used it to haul gravel for our driveway. We were putting about 3 ton of gravel on the trailer. They are pretty slick trailers.
  12. We have a Craftsman with a 25 hp Briggs and the 54" deck. It is a pretty good mower. We have had it for about 6 years now with only one problem. Right when we got it the carb was messed up so they came out and replaced it. We have a 2 acre yard and it has held up just fine. All of our mowers have had Briggs and no problems with any.
  13. Nice looking buck. I really like those brow tines. Congrats!
  14. I was wondering what everyone here uses for a rangefinder or thoughts on what I should get. I am starting bowhunting this fall and my distance judging isn't great. I am going to try to work on getting better at it but I would like a rangefinder just in case. I would also like to use it for rifle season. My budget is around $300.
  15. You aren't the only one.
  16. My thoughts exactly. That thing is hideous, but really, really cool. Nice find.
  17. I got a Mathews Ovation. A good friend of mine who is a bow tech at Scheels bought it new and used it for a couple years. He got a new one and had this one sitting around so he sold it to me. I paid $350 for the bow, Mathews Quiver, hard case, sight, rest and a couple arrows.
  18. That guys is crazy. That is pretty impressive though. There is no way I would be in the water with snapping turtles.
  19. Those are pretty good. I really like the last one.
  20. I love the stories my grandpa and some of the older people I know tell. They are from a simpler time when you busted your tail working and didn't complain. My grandpa always has some pretty good stories about growing up. Last year for my SD History class we had to interview someone who was alive during the depression and I interviewed my grandpa. It was really neat and glad we had to to the project.
  21. I am ready for it to come but I am not. I can't wait for it. I need to get some more practicing in with my bow. Hopefully this summer I can get alot of practice in so I am set.
  22. I have the same knife. I think it cost me $9. Blade gets dull, buy a few replacements and pop one it. I really like mine. I also have a traditional but I really like the way the Wyoming Knife feels in my hand.
  23. It's been pretty good for the past 5 days or so here in SD. Today I was outside in short sleeves for a while. I can't wait for t shirt and shorts weather though. Should be here soon.
  24. The more I shot the more I am thinking I was the reason my arrows were going to the right. Once I started shooting more I was not going to the right. So far I have been shooting from 20, 30 and 40 yards. I am focusing more on getting comfortable at those distances and not so much on my accuracy. Once I feel I am really comfortable at 40 I will start going for accuracy.
