  1. The looks of them "space boot" lookin things should've been enough to dissuade you from buyin them. Sometimes we get caught up in 'trends", though.Unless yer in extremely cold temps. LaCrosse Burly's are hard to beat. I"ve worn them for over 20 yrs. and usually get 2-3 yrs. of hard (huntin only) use out of em.
  2. Chances are if he saw you for sure, that stand is toast. I'd move.
  3. Huntin ain't a "hobby" to begin with. It's either in you or it ain't. I was born and raised right here. When I lost all the farms I had permission to hunt on for years because of city dudes leasin up all the ground or families dyin off and sellin out, it never ONCE crossed my mind to QUIT.? I came up with different approaches and at times I was huntin places nearly devoid of deer while staring at the place slap full of em that I "used to hunt". I eventually bit the bullet and bought what property I could afford and turned it into a virtual Whitetail paradise. Since it is comparitiviely small (57 acres) I still have more problems surrounding me (nieghbors OWN their land too and can do with it as they choose, even to my detriment) than you can shake a stick at. Tresspassers, road hunters, game wardens using their suit and badge and a promise of protection, to obtain permission on my non hunting neighbors 1000 acres (and they still hunt my fence), other neighbors shooting EVERYTHING with an antler, baiting illegally, other neighbors builldozing every square inch of woods off their places, dogs running loose, you name it, I've dealt with it. But never ONCE did I consider QUITTTING! They will take my bow/gun/camo when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers/body!
  4. if I told ya, I'd have to kill ya.....
  5. yep....I prefer a 7 or 8X, but most are 10x42's these days. They should be fine. Nikon is a fine optic for the $.
  6. Have used all kinds, but currently the .308Win. with 168gr. Berger's in front of 42.5gr. of Varget is the medicine.
  7. Use rubber boots, rubber gloves and a garden rake works good. Make sure there is a chest high overhanging branch. Use James Valley Scent Co. 'Wallhanger' and 'Full Rut' gel lures with q-Tips or broken sticks. Read all of the instructions that come with your purchase and you cannot go wrong.
  8. I used to have great success with a bleat call years ago. Once the "can" came on the seen and everybody started palying with it, like they're in an orchestra the results have diminished. However, if the deer in your area aren't used to being tormented by it they will respond under the right circumstances. I still carry mine every time I'm in the woods. I RARELY call "blind" with any call here in Missouri.
  9. yeah, I heard the same dude say, he'd NEVER usae an open on impact broadhead, go figure.
  10. I'll take ALL your Montecs off your hands.
