What do you guys think this one will score and what do you think his age is? It will be hard to pass this one up but I can only imagine what he will look like next yr if he makes it through another season!

thanks for the inputs. I turned the photo into our county game warden and he is suppose to be callin me once they figure out what it is. The only thing that is crazy is that a nice young 8 point and 3 doe showed up 15 minutes after this photo was taken. If they are cyotes i will be thining them out come fall and winter

Heres a little bit of knowledge that I know and have had experience with. I work at a local feed company and know alot about animal nutrition. I put out loose mineral Feb through April. This will help in aid with bucks growing larger racks and will also help the does lactating when giving birth to the yearlings in the upcoming spring. If you read the nutrition tag on any mineral supplement it already has salt in the mixture so you really dont need to add any salt to your sites. Any local feed store carries a wide variety of mineral so choose the best product that meets your needs. In the spring i put out some protein blocks that are high in protein to help out with the developing antler growth and it will help the does stay in good condition after giving birth. It will also help with the yearlings geting a better start. At the same time I will make a few clover food plots every 3 years. Deer love clover and will eat on it year around. Its also a good fiber supplement and a good green food source through out the winter months. Ill also put out a few trophy rock's during the summer which also have a wide variety of mineral's and is also high in vitamin's. All of this will improve your overall deer heard health and weight through the winter months. I am not a big fan of plain corn because it does not have alot of nutritional value but it is a very good bait if that is what you are looking for. Hope this helps!

http://www.realtree.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=6683&stc=1&d=1292972559 Well I finally caught up on one of my hit list bucks this past Saturday December 18, 2010. I bow hunted all year and never got a encounter with any of my hitlist bucks. Its was th extra weekend hunt here in Ohio and i had my Muzzleloader in hand. He came in chasing a few doe and gave me a 40 yrd broadside shot and i smoked him. Only ran 50yrds and crashed. I wish I could have got him with the Hoyt but I can't complain. This is my best buck to date and Im still soakin this one in.

Congrats on a buck of a lifetime!

Well....... Bow seasin here in Ohio starts this weekend and i cant wait! I have a few bucks on camera that I will be trying to get set up on and getting a shot at. Hopefully with a little bit of luck and good weather I will bag one this season. This week it has been hot in the 90's but the weather looks like it should break and be back in the 70's for this weekend. Hopefully if the temps drop the deer will be moving at dusk and dawn. And on another note the crops around here and where i hunt are coming off quike. If i had to guess more than 50% of the crop is already out of the fields. This is the first time that I have seen this many crops out at this time of year. Good luck to all Ohio bowhunters this weekend and always put safety first no matter what!

Them are some nice bucks. Hopefully you get an opportunity at one this year. I would say a few of them are 140 plus. Good Luck come late September! -
I am a big fan of the bloodrunners. I have been useing them the past couple of yrs. They are the best broadheads that i have ever shot with my Hoyt. Fly great and they are consistant in pattern with every shot. If its no broke then don't fix it has always been my philosophy so ill be sticking with them untill i have a reason to switch!

Im guessin anywhere frome 17 to 20 inches inside. Thats a nice buck either way and it looks like he is not done growen yet!!

For every 500 pounds of corn i put in the mixer i put 100 pounds of distillers and 100 pounds of roasted soybeans with 5 pounds of liquid fat and 20 pounds of molasses. Thats the best ration that me and my boss which is a mutritional specialist cam up with. The deer are all over it and love it. I cant keep it out because within 3 days 2 bags that I puut out will be gone. Hope this helps you out!!

I work at a local feed mill here in central Ohio and i also attend college. But i have started mixing my own mixes and have got plenty of ppl in the area started on it and they seem to love it just as much as I do. I always put out trace mineral salt blocks during the spring and summer months and ill start puting out my corn mix in the early part of july and let me tell ya the deer go crazy over it. i mix up shelled corn, roasted soybeans, molasses, liquid fat and distillers grain for protien. Great feed attractant and deer also get nutritional value out of it as well. A few ppl bring over c'mere deer, acorn rage, etc to have us mix it directly in the mixer with their corn they buy and add molasses to it and they seem very pleased with the results. Hope this helps anybody that has a local feed store/company close to them that is willing to mix rations up for you. Good Luck in the up coming season. I cant wait to get in the woods!!

So i have been trying to upload a few nice photos that i got on my trail cam the past few weeks and i still havnt figured out how to get them posted on here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Well i dk about yall but i cant wait for bow season to come in here in Ohio. It comes in the last Saturday in Septemeber and im counting down the days. I got my new Hoyt Alpha Max a couple weeks ago and been shooting it everyday. Im very inmpressed with it and encourage everyone to check out the lineup of Hoyts. I have never felt so good and confident with a bow in my hand. I got my trail cameras out a few weeks ago and I already have several nice bucks on them and plenty of skin heads as well. Got all my stands moved and hung this past weekend. Now its just wait a few months put corn out and check cameras every weekend. Anyone else pumped about geting out in the woods and for season to come in?
-
well its only may 18th and im already getin pumped up for the up coming season. got my food plots and mineral blocks all out sunday and checked my camera. i have gotten more pictures of deer than ever before this early in the year. i live here in central ohio and ever sense i started bow huntin 2001 i have always used my hortan legend. i have decided to break down and buy me a compound this summer. havent really priced or beenlookin hard yet for one. im not very familiar or up to date with the compound bows so i would like some advice on what brand name bow and make would be a great starting bow. im thinking about a hoyt or a bear but ill take any advice or help anyone would like to give me!! Thanks

Anybody going out Saturday for the Ohio Muzzloading Season? It goes through till Tuesday.
-
yea the story is true. it was killed in highland county which is a county south of where i live and hunt which is fayette. that is a monster deer. it has been in every newspaper around here and everyone is talking about it.

I hunted all week and seen very few hunters out and very few deer as well. The farms that i hunt i usually see a couple real nice bucks every year but didnt see one shooter buck all week. I have had a very dissapointing season so far. Hopefully ill be able to get out with my bow and get a shot on a nice one or atleast a big fat doe for some meat. Good luck!!

So its tuesday of ohios deer gun season and i just got in from the mourning hunt. Yesterday i only seen 11 deer the whole day all does as well. This mourning i had 2 does come in and they took off runing out into the field so i thought they winded me. Nope here come a pack of six cyotes. I shot 2 of them but here in central ohio it has been a dissapointing here so far. The weather has been horriable and the deer arent moving at all. I dont know if its due 2 the late rut, weather or the packs o cyotes seen where i hunt. In my county there were only 4 deer checked in all day yesterday and that is a record low. It seems like the whole state is at a record low as well of deer checked in on the year thus far. Im goin 2 stick with it the rest of the week and hopefully get a crack at a nice 1. Hope everyone else is having better luck than we are.

Ill be goin out gun huntin monday tuesday and wednesay. I got those three days off of work plus the weekend. I would rather be sitting in the woods with my bow but where i hunt tou gotta go out during gun season because im the only person allowed hunting the farms i have permission on and the idoits around me will be pushing neighboring woods and its hard to say how many deer i will see next week. I have seen as many as 50 deer in one day run by me. So all in all im pretty pumped for monday. Good luck and be safe

Well it hasnt been a very good november for me. I live and hunt here in centrel ohio and in october i seen 3 diff shooter bucks and the deer were movin everywhere. The whole month of november i have seen little deer movement and just a handful of small bucks but no shooters. Im used to seein nice shooter bucks out in fields every year chasing does but not this year. I dont know if the late season harvest of crops had an effect on the rut and deer movement. This past weekend was the youth gun season here and there was few hunters out and i just a few deer the whole weekend. Im goin to try to wait it out and see but gun season opens a week from today so hopefully the deer will be moven. Anybody else haven this problem? Good luck to yall and happy thanksgiving!!
