  1. i had a friend shoot a huge buck the other morning with a .243 100 grain bullet, right in the shoulder and lungs, and he took one step and fell over, and if ya need proof i just posted pics in a thread i made about manitoba bucks, check it out!
  2. id be guessing 145-155 , whichis bigger thanany buck that i have shot so far, let him have it!
  3. Well its day three of the manitoba rifle season, and the bucks are cruisn every where, one of my good buddies dad shot a monster opening morning, not much of a story to it, had been hunting 15 mins, buck came out 70 yars, he dropped him, the next morning, i rattled in a little spiker, and needing some meat for the freezer, i decided i couldnt pass the 30 yars shot, so i took him with a good clean shot, move on to tonight ( novemeber 16th) same property i shot my little buck on yesterday, i had to move to a different spot due to the wind, and not long afterwards, a doe came crashing out about 175 yards away, a buck right behind her.. and he was BIG!, so i hollered out a bleat for her to stop, she did, he kept running and jumped right on her, she turned round and shook him off and went to go back the way she came, so i let a shot out, just over his back, i managed one more, only to watch him prance away with his lady into the bush, the only good news is that he went back into my place, so hopefully il catch him in the morning. Anyways, hope you enjoy the pics , and good luck to everyone ! Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us

    Arrow Flight

I shoot a Martin pantera bow, with a whisker biscuit, carbon impact fat shaft 6000 arrows with blazer vanes, 31.5 inch draw length, and im in no way trying to toot my own horn, but I was shooting deadly with my field points over the summer, I broke the record for thehigh score at my local 3D range this summer, so it not lack of practice or that my bow is outta wack

    Arrow Flight

Im sighting in my arrows with broad heads now, as i have been shooting with feild points all summer, and i had to adjust because my broad heads ( muzzy mx3's) were shooting low, but now they seem to be shooting to the left, and im wondering if the blades need to match the vanes? do they actualy need to line up like some people have told me, or does it not matter like some other people have told me, it may of just been me cause i had been shooting alot and could of gotten tired and started to not have as good form after shooting lots of arrows, but regardless im trying to figure out about the blades matching the vanes and if it really matters, thanks guys.
  7. The arrow was pretty much clean(from being in water for 12 hrs) except for what looked like a little bit of fat on it, and it felt greasey, long after i had it out of the water, the blood is also hard to follow because there is lots of water in the feild, but i went through the bush today, back and forth, gonna have to go out again tomorrow and try, problem is its on another persons property, who gave me permission, but hes a hunter and its hunting heaven, bucks galore, there was 15 on the feild when i shot at the one last night, so he may not want lots of people tearing through his bush, two days before the rifle season starts and he can start hunting there.
  8. Found the arrow, totaly submerged in water all night, found some white hair witha little bit of brown in it, covered in blood, and three other little spots of blood with nothing else, gonna go look once more still because i want to be positive im not letting a deer go to waste
  9. went back, coulndt find blood, couldnt find the arrow, i was on the ground and he was in some taller grass that would swallow up an arrow and make it very hard to find if it passed right through, it was to dark to really see anything, so with no arrow, im not sure where to g from here, i guess il go look for blood in daylight and then go check te bush he ran to for some blood or hopefully him in a bed.
  10. Its so hard to describe the sound, the way you described the way a lung shot should sound, sounds like the way this shot sounded.. it did sound like it hit bone, but its so hard to describe a sound like this to someone
  11. He was right broadside, it made a loud thump when it hit him.
  12. Ok, so i took a shot at a buck tonight.. 20-25 yards it was pretty dark, aimed at his vitals, let him have it, it made the noise an arrow makes when you hit a deer, and he turned aroud and walked back across the feild he came across to get to me, with his tail down, very slowly, and i watched him till i couldnt see him anymore, he had walked about 200 yards, he looked back once.. but he kept his tail down the whole time. I feel really good about the shot, but from my description, what do you guys think? He sure acted like a mortaly wounded deer to me, but some input from some more experienced hunters would be greatly appreciated.
  13. All that really matters is if you decided to pass on him or not, and you deemed him a shooter, and i would of done the exact same thing, congrats on a beauty of a buck
