I am talking about the attitude moreso than the harvest really.
The fact that they just bash out a number and brag about it, and are done shooting rather than sharing time together and putting some yummy ducks on the table.
I would imagine they give all the meat to a local foodbank and scout for the next days hunt, foregoing that side of the game, (plucking/breasting).:hammer1:
My point was, it just casts a bad view of hunters, being an avid waterfowler, I love letting the hens fly. I feel so good shooting drake limits. Doesn't happen all the time, but hey, I can eat a steak if I am that hungry with only 3 -4 greenheads in my game bag. These guys don't seem to get it, and the constant barrage and banter of "kill'em" is just way over the top.
Have only heard that from Americans, why not "take 'em"???
I go hunting with friends to enjoy nature, learn from mother nature, and lastly to harvest birds for the table. The limits where they shoot are high(8 birds/man/day) and odds are good you limit on drakes before 10 am where they hunt. Yes, drakes play a obviously good part of reproduction, but they account for 60% plus of the population, so selective harvest is crucial when pounding down 60+ birds a day for purposes of a video enterprise....would you not agree?
Just puzzled by the whole compunction of these guys to accentuate the value of numbers, be it a drake or a hen...
My 2 cents.
