  1. Actually it really was. It was mostly designed to get publicity for their site. But if you have a chance to win a cool hunt like this...it makes it worth it. :yes I have been hunting for 30 years and it has always just been a personal passion of mine. I never dreamed that by submitting an essay, I could win such a cool thing. But I am so excited!
  2. Not sure yet, but hopefully I will know more after the show in Vegas. I will let you know.
  3. Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I won the contest and I wanted to thank you all so much for your votes!!! I have had a lot of fun getting to know people on all the forums I joined to get the word out there about the contest. I spoke to Tom Opre today and he said I will be introduced at the SHOT show in Las Vegas on January 19, and then my hunt in British Columbia will take place in September. They will let me know at that time when it will be aired on the Versus channel. Anyway, I am so so excited, I really never dreamed I would win when I entered my essay...and I can't believe I did! Thank you so so much you guys!!!!
  4. Hey thanks everybody!!! This is definitely going to be a very close race! I really appreciate all the help and support you guys have given me! And that bear....yeah that was one of the scariest things I have ever done. I shot him at 24 yards and he is 10 1/2 feet! But the real scary part that happened was after the bear had been caped out. There were two other very big bear watching us across the river. My husband shot in front of them to scare them and they just kept coming toward us. It was a pitch black night! I really thought I was going to die that night! But it definitely is one of my most treasured memories!!! Thanks Becky
  5. There are only two weeks left of the Extreme Huntress contest! My second place competitor is quickly catching up to me! Vote for me at www.tahoefilms.com and see more pics and videos at www.rebeccafrancis.comThanks for your help guys!!!Rebecca Francis
  6. Hey thanks for your great response! That was probably one of my favorite hunts, just because it was so unique. I am getting another video ready to post too, of my brown bear I got with a bow in Alaska. That was scary!!!
  7. Thanks for all the warm welcoming! I am really excited to be here!
  8. I am from Evanston, but I live in Utah too. I've been going to school full time for the past 5 years in UT. But I am still a WY resident.
  9. Don't worry, there is nothing inappropriate about it. I have children too. I would never put something out there for the world to see that was over the line. I have long johns on. It really is funny.
  10. Hi there! Everyone has been asking for some great bow hunting stories, and this one definitely takes the cake. This is a video where I drop my drawers to mimic a sheep in order to get close enough for my bow shot! I actually stalked this ram for well over an hour and I had been backpacked in there sheep hunting for two weeks. So at this point I was willing to try anything! My husband had seen a video where Kent Roberts had placed a white towel on his but to mimic a sheep and he got close enough to make a great bow shot! Well I didn't have a white towel in my backpack, so I used the next best thing!!! I had to condense over an hour of footage into 6 minutes! But it's still funny! Check it out! The link is posted on www.rebeccafrancis.com
  11. Hi I am new to this forum. I am an avid bowhunter and have a lot of great stories. I hope to get to know all of you better. There is nothing I like better than talking about hunting!
