encore barrel I did a lot of research before I settled on a .308. It depends on what you want, things like recoil, price and availability of ammo, whether you will be reloading or not. I don't reload. It all boils down to personal choice. Check out ballistics on the calibers you are interested in and make a choice, I love my 308 sighted in at 200 yards. It is awesome.
