  1. those plots in the pictures look really nice....i would love if they turned out like that!!! how successful were those plots during ur season?
  2. thanks guys.....looking into that imperial clover for in the woods that were gunna clear a spot for....think that would work well or just stick to the fields?
  3. Me and my buddy are planning on putting a food plot on the farm thats about 2-3 acres. Wonderin if anyone knows what would be best to plant. Im trying to get a plot that will benefit the deer herd year round.... Looked into BioLogic.... not really sure whether or not that is the answer looking to keep them bug bucks off the neighbors a lil
  4. just went out to a farmground near my house that i hunt. Me and my dad sat that for a little and with all the heat i didnt think that there would be much action. Turns out there probably wasnt gunna be but jus before it got dark i heard em fly up to roost. We sat there for a lil bit and then owl hooted. An owl responded a few seconds later and sure enough all the gobblers startin talkin pretty good! cant wait til tomorow...its opening day in PA and im hoping to drop one!
  5. I have went through olat of calls i used to use river valley game calls til they went out of business but my new favorite is CODY calls.....gotta try em they are awesome!
  6. im hearin them every morning at home....exciting but since season dont start til may 1st im hopin they are not startin in early....that'll ruin it for season if they are already gettin in it heavy....
  7. i live in williamsport, which is in north central PA, we just had two warm days so im sure that helped, not real vocal but def heard them makin some noise both mornings!
  8. I use topos quite a bit, mostly for navigation but they are also very useful for scouting. On topos i just go by the rule that deer are like very smart large rabbits haha. The brushy areas concentrated near food and water are always my first choice....usually just check out the woods then....cant tell whether they are there or not til your there but a topo sure can help. As far a GPS goes they are about the same usually i just mark the points while im there so you can see just where u were on the topo. Good Luck with ur scoutin!
  9. Hi Everyone, Im from PA, its finally getting warm and the snow is melting off after this crazy winter. Went out to the truck the last two days before goin to work and the gobblers are singin off the roost already....just wonderin if anyone else is hearin em wherever you live.....
  10. if your lookin for the cheapest and easist way....my suggestion would be a feed bag stuffed with cotton, bags, etc. Then when you switch to broadheads just use Tyvek styrofoam or an equivelent....works for me
