  1. LMAO @ bolded!!! Hawaii is quite moutainous, its tallest just under 14,000' I beleive. Snow in hawaii is not terribly uncommon beleive it or not. It's also the only US state that grows coffee.
  2. Florida is the only state without snow on the ground somewhere. http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/01/11/snow-present-in-49-of-the-50-u-s-states/?hpt=T1
  3. Next time and anti-gun politician gets a DWI, start a campaign to ban vehicles.
  4. One of the few things I remember about my dad was his tattoo's. Tattooing is an ancient and sometimes sacred practice, dating back to 9500 BC. Tat's can symbolize a rite of passage, profess ones love, or serve as a permanent memorial. They also may serve as a permanent symbol of regret! LOL! I have a few, I'll find some pics......
  5. What about all those crazy flavors they have now? Popcorn, Cotton Candy, french Vanilla and the like? Those taste pretty good!

Yup! Trout River Rainbow Red Ale, tastes great. Brewed in Lyndonville VT, I'm not sure about it's distribution. Unfortunately I doubt its available beyond Northern New England, perhaps Northern NY as well. http://www.troutriverbrewing.com/

Oh yea...their Copper Ale ranks right up there! I'm about an hour away from Middlebury, but as they say around here "you just can't get there from here" LOL! I haven't been to the brewery yet, but I hear the beer served there tastes better than what they bottle. Long Trail has some great beer as well. There are 21 breweries in VT, the state brewers association has a "passport challange", if you visit all of them you can get a Tshirt. http://brewersvt.com/vba
  8. Ouch..... One of my wifes girlfriends had her family holiday photo taken and insisted on everyone wearing matching "feetie" PJ's, even her husband. He looked ridiculous.
  9. You stole my line... ....and I got 10 years on ya, I still feel that way!

  12. Multilingual people have a big advatage in this world, and young children are ripe for learning. Nothing wrong with speaking more than one language, doesn't mean English can't be you're primary language however. My kids are 2 and 4, yogabbagabba is among their favorites. When I first saw it I thought it was trash. But I watched a few times with them and realized that it promotes things like music, reading, physical activity, and the like. I don't totally agree with your take on the dirty air thing, it just takes some parenting to further explain things. I can see a cartoon like that convincing a little kid that cars are evil and nobody should drive, we as adults know that's not true. I started talking/teaching my daughter about enery consumption/conservation before she could even talk, as far as I'm concerned they're the key to solving our energy crisis.
  13. Oh I gotcha....Same type, different cal. Makes sense.

You're not a Genny man?!? The general store in town carries Genny Cream Ale, I like it now and again.
  16. On one of the BOB interviews, he was telling a story of a fellow soldier and his grandson. The boy asked "Were you a hero in the war Grandpa?" And he replied " No son, but I served in a company of heroes." I'll never forget him saying that.

  20. I'd even say you're at high risk for a chimney fire!
  21. I'd get someone in to clean your system...
  22. I use a friends chimney brush, essentially just a big wire brush, on a long flexible pole that you assemble as you jam it up the chimney. (or down)I take the stovepipe out of the wall insert and start shoving. It makes a mess sometimes, but mine is in the basement so no big deal. You can hire a chimney sweep, probably fairly inexpensive, but I'm cheap and like to do it myself. Be really careful with those chemical logs, if you have heavy creosote buildup, it may cause large pieces to come lose and completely occlude your chimney, or even worse, start a chiney fire.
  23. more importantly, when was the last time you swept your chimney? I do mine every year, some guys do it more often. Where is this "oil" leaking from? Sounds like you've got draft issues.......
  24. No!! 75 gals in my oil burner/forced air system! I burn wood and oil...2 different units. I supplement my wood heat with oil, by "supplement" I mean when my wife doesn't feel like dealing with the stove.
